Abdullah1 is THE BEST GUIDE EVER. Extremely funny, safe driver and goes above and beyond for his clients. Took photos for us, gave us exclusive tips, and made the whole experience so much more memorable and gave us a little tour of Marrakech on the way there. We found out about this experience through friends of friends and contacted the operators directly via WhatsApp. We were picked up by a truly kind and helpful driver named Yassine, who was also very punctual, and the ride to the site was smooth and relaxing. It didn’t take long to get there. When we arrived at the camp where the experience took place, we were welcomed with a light breakfast and seated in beautifully themed tents. Meanwhile, we got to watch the hot air balloons being prepared, which was fascinating — it was wonderful to see the whole process up close. At first we were a bit scared and anxious, but by the end it turned out to be calm, fun, and relaxing. Nicole, the pilot, was excellent and really knew what she was doing! We would absolutely do this again — truly the experience of a lifetime.

Our hot air balloon ride in Marrakech was truly unforgettable. Everything was perfectly organized, and the team’s professionalism was evident from start to finish. Safety was always the top priority, which made us feel comfortable and secure throughout the entire experience. A special thank you to our pilot, Nicole, who was absolutely fantastic. She made us feel safe at all times and handled everything with professionalism and confidence. I also want to give a huge compliment to our driver, Yesin. He treated us like his younger sisters and cared for us as if he were our brother. It was a cold morning, and he even gave me his own jacket to keep me warm—a gesture I’ll never forget. His kindness and generosity made the experience even more special. The breakfast was delicious, and the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was friendly, made us laugh, and created such a warm atmosphere that we felt right at home. I loved every minute of this experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech!

Our hot air balloon ride with Ciel d’Afrique was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful experiences of our trip to Marrakech and worth every single euro. We were picked up punctually at 5:45 AM at the agreed meeting point. After about an hour's drive, we were first warmly welcomed and could relax with coffee, tea, water, and fresh croissants before heading to the balloon. The entire organization was excellent from start to finish – professional, friendly, and perfectly coordinated. Our pilot, Mr. Bean, was simply great. He took plenty of time to patiently answer all questions, explained interesting things about the region and the balloon ride, and always ensured a relaxed and safe atmosphere. One felt very well taken care of at all times. The balloon ride itself was simply beautiful. The sunrise over the landscape around Marrakech, the tranquility in the air, and the incredible view are hard to put into words. The approximately 40 minutes in the air passed far too quickly and were truly magical. After landing, we were taken to a traditional Berber breakfast, which perfectly rounded off the morning. Everything there was also very lovingly prepared and authentic. Overall, it was a truly special experience that we will never forget. Anyone wanting to experience something unique in Marrakech should definitely take a hot air balloon ride with Ciel d’Afrique. Absolute recommendation!

Absolutely incredible experience! Very nice! The driver was very punctual and we felt safe throughout the tour. We chose this company because they seemed very serious. During our tour, they adhered to all the laws and regulations of flight, which other companies did not. The only downside was that there were many rides back and forth; to/from check-in and the runway. Breakfast was very good; traditional Moroccan breakfast. All communication before the tour was held via WhatsUp.

Whilst the ballon ride was enjoyable and Nicole the captain was nice it was upon landing it went wrong. 2 of the staff members got into a heated argument and started pushing each other and one was waving a large pole around. It felt like there was going to be a full on fight and very intimidating situation and there was young children there. When I spoke to I assume a manger he went of and came back basically calling me a liar and said nothing happened. Thankfully another tourist stood up and said what had actually happened. He then changed his attitude and started telling me it was none of our business but it was right in front of us. The manager then became aggressive and just kept staring at me and family which made us feel very uncomfortable. Couldn’t explain why but had the feeling this was not the first time. Very unprofessional behaviour and attitude from the manager. Would suggest another company.

Second time with Ciel d’Afrique and another brilliant experience. Very efficient booking and pre activity process, lovely personal service from Mouad who collected us from our hotel in the Atlas Mountains and dropped us off again afterwards. He was very adept at taking some great photos for us and clearly wanted us to have the very best time. Nicole our pilot was a very safe pair of hands and we loved that the company employs some of the villagers to assist with take offs and landings. There were over 60 balloons flying from different companies yesterday, which made for amazing photos. The experience is magical - floating up to 1000 meters in the still air and Nicole manoeuvred the balloon well so everyone could get the best views - particularly of the sunrise. The one hour flight enables you to have the best experience as you go to the maximum height and also travel a little further. One of our party was scared of heights but thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We’ll be back!
