Itinerary
Check in at our office in central Madrid 15 minutes in advance of your tour. Leave the city towards Segovia aboard one of our air-conditioned coaches. Our first stop will be in the city of Segovia. Upon arrival, we will be divided into different groups. If you have chosen “Full day Tour on your own”, you will enjoy approximately three hours of free time to visit the city on your own. If you have chosen the “Guided tour with monuments”, you will have access to the Alcázar of Segovia, where you will enjoy a guided tour while you marvel at its spectacular fortification. Did you know that its architecture inspired Walt Disney for one of his films? Can you tell us which one?
Walk through the old Jewish quarter of the city and visit the exterior of the Cathedral. Those who have the gastronomic lunch included will head to the restaurant; to enjoy a typical local menu with roast suckling pig that will not leave you indifferent.
After visiting Segovia, we will continue our tour to Avila, one of the best-preserved fortified cities in Spain. If you have chosen the option “Full day Tour on your own” you will enjoy the city at your own pace. This option includes admission to the city walls, so you can visit them on your own during your stay.
The rest of the group will follow the guide on a guided tour of the old town to discover the city's impressive history. See Romanesque churches, Gothic palaces and a fortified cathedral from the middle Ages. Visit the walls of Avila as you imagine the stories they have seen through the centuries. Marvel at the fortification and towers, declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

My favorite day trip from Madrid. The time in Ávila and Segovia was just right—not too little, not too much. Lunch was served around noon (unlike other tours that didn’t eat until 3 p.m.). We paid for the pre-ordered meal, which was served quickly, leaving more time for sightseeing. A highlight was the traditional plate-cutting ceremony for the cochinillo in Segovia. It may not be the most famous restaurant, but it beats wandering around looking for a place to eat. The guide was knowledgeable, and the bus had good A/C. There’s no hotel pickup, so you’ll need to walk to the tour office, which seems common in Spain. If you’re visiting Ávila in summer, bring an umbrella—it has very little shade and gets extremely hot. Recommended.
Our day out to Segovia & Avila was wonderful Both towns have so much history and our guide Mateo was knowledgeable and really friendly and gave us so much information We were on a Spanish & English tour and he managed to guide us in both languages perfectly Highly recommend this tour
Great tour. Learned a lot. Avila is amazing and is a must see when you go to Spain. Use Julia Travel
Great full-day tour of Segovia and Avila and the surrounding area. It’s definitely a long day with multiple stops, so be prepared for a full itinerary, but you learn a lot and get to see so much. Mateo was an excellent guide, very responsive, knowledgeable, and kept everything running smoothly throughout the day. We chose the lunch option and enjoyed it; the restaurant was nice and the suckling pig was a fun local specialty to try. The tour was conducted in both Spanish and English. It was a great way to see a lot and learn more about the area in one day.
Everything excellent, Mateo our guide was super attentive, always on top of everything, and his explanations were very good, undoubtedly a highly recommendable excursion.
Everything was very punctual and accurate, just as they described to us on the day we bought it. Mateo is a very good guide, he is approachable, charismatic, and takes care of us.
It would have been perfect except for the heat of the summer. Not really the tour’s fsult. The bus was cool, thank luck. Mateo, our guide was great. He explained all the significance of the sites. Great tour!
Very kind, the information is very clear
Segovia ok, Avila very far and very short view, several locations closed.
First we had to wait 30 minutes in a hot underground garage for the bus. A ridiculous way to start the tour- Our tour guide was beyond boring and not the informative people person we had hoped for. She did not make us feel welcomed and The 6 hour bus ride was not worth the time.
