Start your full-day journey with a smooth pickup from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech. For Medina Riads, a nearby accessible meeting point is provided with clear instructions after booking. Leave the city behind and begin the day at a slower, more scenic pace as you head toward the Atlas Mountains.
Drive through the picturesque landscapes of the Ourika Valley before enjoying a short scenic camel ride in a calm open setting with mountain views, away from crowds when possible. This relaxed experience gives you time for photos, a taste of traditional Moroccan camel riding, and a smooth start to your day in the Atlas Mountains. Traditional Moroccan attire may be available for photos.
Pause at a scenic viewpoint in Tahanaout with sweeping Atlas views and a more authentic side of Berber heritage. Take time to breathe, enjoy the landscape, and relax during a traditional tea break with local snacks including amlou, honey, olive oil, and warm fresh bread. This is not a commercial stop — it is a genuine moment of Berber hospitality, with cultural insight shared by your guide.
Continue through the beautiful Asni Valley, passing traditional Berber villages, terraced fields, walnut trees, and wide mountain landscapes. This part of the journey offers a closer look at daily life in the Atlas region, with time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and learn more about local traditions from your guide.
Arrive in Imlil, a beautiful mountain village in the High Atlas, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Berber lunch in a relaxed setting with panoramic views. This is a genuine local experience, not a tourist restaurant stop, with warm hospitality, authentic flavors, and time to slow down and enjoy daily life in the mountains.
Enjoy a guided walk in the High Atlas Mountains, surrounded by fresh mountain air, panoramic views, and traditional Berber landscapes. This moderate walk follows uneven paths with some gentle uphill and downhill sections, offering a closer connection to the scenery and a more authentic feel of daily life in the mountains. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Pass through Moulay Brahim on the return journey and enjoy sweeping views of the Atlas Mountains and surrounding landscapes. This scenic stretch offers one last glimpse of traditional mountain life before heading back to Marrakech.

We had an amazing full-day tour in the Atlas Mountains with Abdul from Atlas Pathway Journeys. He was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the entire experience, making everything smooth and stress-free. The route he designed was beautiful and very interesting, and he shared a lot of insightful information along the way. What made it truly special was experiencing the region through the eyes of a local — it felt authentic and personal. We had the best day with a young local guy! He knows all the best places and we could have a tradicional Berber lunch is his home village. He adapt the program to our demand. We had a visit in traditional Berber villages, houses, we had a nice hike to a waterfall. We had the best view for our delicious lunch. Abdel made us feel we have a trip with our best friend!

Abdel was a really nice guide. He is young, handsome and have a great knowledge about the mountains. We actually made us a private tour. Take us to his home village, he knows the best places, best coffee withe the best view! He made us feel we were in a trip with our best friend. We had a visit and small breakfast in a Berber village, an original Berber house with such a nice hosts. We had stops with the best views. Help us find warm socks (we were quite cold in the chilly weather 😅). We went to a small hike to a waterfall and have an original Berber lunch with the best view to the mountains. Ha can organize more complete hikes to the mountains, he had the experience and local knowledge. Abdel also got us know more about their traditions in his village, showed us videos about their exciting traditional events. Best way to visit the Atlas mountains with a local guy like he! Thank you for making such a good day for us! I would also mention, the day we have our booking for the trip there was a really bad weather, and he warned us the evening before. So we could change the day, to have a better experience!

This was the best tour during our Marrakech trip. Abdullah’s itinerary gave us a full experience of Morocco’s culture, especially the Berbers (Imazighen). Abdullah beautifully and quite artistically explained to us the real history of Morocco and the indigenous life of the Imazighen people. He took us through three beautiful villages and gave us a glimpse of the Atlas Mountains from a close distance. We did a small trek to the Ourika Valley waterfall, which was worth it! The icing on the cake was the warm, home-cooked meal served by Abdullah’s family against the beautiful backdrop of the Atlas Mountains in his village. It was the best tagine we had on the entire trip because it was home-cooked with love and care. Overall, the trip was just excellent and absolutely worth it! Anyone wanting to experience cultural tourism must take this trip.

This was a great day trip! We were really well looked after. The lunch on a terrace in a village was fabulous and the camel ride was relaxed and in the desert away from crowds. We visited waterfalls (which was busy) but the walk to the falls was away from crowds and really informative
