Atlas Mountains Guided Day Hike

Abdul our guide was an absolute star. As we were the only ones that booked we had a private guide experience treking from Imlil up to a 3000m point taking in the scenery and learning about the local culture. Abdul prepared us a tasty pack lunch (no cook and mule due to low numbers). On the way back we had a dunk in the beautiful waterfall to cool off. If like us you fancy a solid days hiking in the mountains without the time to do a 2-3 day Toubkal submit then go no further!

We booked the 10km day hike for a group of 12- Brahim was very responsive and accommodating. Unfortunately just before the walk Brahim let us know he had a 10 day hike booked so wouldn’t be able to take us, but arranged for a local guide Houssein to take us. Houssein was brilliant- paced the walk really well. It was a challenging hike, up hill constantly for 2.5 hours. Some of us stayed at the “pass” and others continued to the summit which was another 30 mins up steep shale. Lunch was basic but tasty along with some fresh squeezed orange juice. The views were spectacular and worth the effort. Brilliant day and highly recommended!

An excellent day with the kindest guide. We stayed at a swank local place and appreciated the guide’s Inside view of life in the amazing village. He was flexible with pace nd made the climb enjoyable.

We had a fantastic, experience hiking in the Atlas mountains with our fabulous guide, Brahim. Picked up in Marrakech by a lovely friendly and safe driver and we drove an hour and half to the village of Imlil. From there we started our beautiful hike into the mountains. Brahim was a very friendly and safe guide, happily telling us about his Berber culture and the stunning surroundings. Lunch was delicious and was served to us away from all the tourist areas at a place next to his family's home in a village, in the mountains. Then we continued our hiking through tiny mountain villages and eventually descended back to Imlil before being driven back to Marrakech. The hike was about 5 hours long and Brahim judged our pace perfectly. The whole experience is about 8 1/2 hrs long and so worth it. Thank you Brahim for one of the most wonderful hiking experiences we have ever had!

This trip is imprinted on my heart. What an absolutely fantastic experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Communication before was excellent. Travelling as a solo female I felt safe. Scenery was amazing, food so tasty and the views were just wow! Thank you so much. InchaAllah I will be back for another hike. ☺️

What an amazing experience. The hike was absolutely beautiful and just what I needed on this trip! If you want to see authentic Morocco, away from the hustle of Marrakech— highly recommend. Our guide was very professional and I felt safe the entire hike. I would wear actual hiking boots and consider poles— portions of the trail were covered in snow. It’s not a bad hike (no scrambling), but loose gravel and got a little steep at some points. Highly recommend.

We wanted to do a proper hike in the mountains but only had one day to use for it. With very limited knowledge of the area, we also needed a local to guide us with the routes and the winter weather. We got a great, friendly local guide, Abdou, who knew the mountains like his own pockets and also willingly shared his knowledge and experience about the local life, history, language(s), and geographics. The itinirary was adjusted to the weather (snow) but that is how it is with the mountains. We still got to choose the altitude we wanted to climb to from available options. Litter was seen everywhere even higher up, which was disturbing and sad. However, for us, the visit to the mountains accompanied by Abdou was the highlight of our few days in Marrakech.

Mustapha was a superb guide, very informative & gave us lots of options for our route. Loved meeting members of his family & community in Imlil. Ahmed our driver was excellent, funny guy !
