‘Absolutely Spiffing’ Berber and Atlas Mountain’s Experience

We were collected promptly by Ismail and were pleased with the early start ‘you snooze you loose!’ as Ismail would say. This meant that everywhere was relaxed and calm. Ismail greeted us with a flurry of enthusiastic excitement. He maintained this energetic, informative and highly amusing demeanour throughout the trip. He was quick witted and well read. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the Atlas Mountains and also the culture and language. In addition he included facts about other countries- keeping us highly entertained. The breakfast suited us perfectly. There was no pressure to buy from the cooperative but the thick luxurious honey spoke for itself. I absolutely loved the glimpse of the life of a Berber. I have forgotten our hiking guides name but he was superb. He asked our preferences on the route and ensured we were all okay continuously. I was grateful for the preparation to take sun cream, have appropriate foot wear and ideally bring a hat. The food given at the local Berber home was delicious and plentiful. I was amazed by how much our daughters consumed and I am sure they surprised themselves. We have experienced other tagines but this was a real delight, made all the better by the splendid back drop of the Atlas Mountains.

Amazing day trip from Marrakech.

Mohamed, driver/tour guide is excellent, speaks fluent english. Very knowledgeable in history and general information. Interestingly, he is well loved in the villages and kids wait for him along the road for his brotherly love ( giving out candies and kind words ). Not to be missed when in Marrakech. Ps: for future tourists, good idea to bring some candies/small school supplies to hand out to kids. The villages were hit by earthquake in 2023 and has not recovered from it.

A Truly Beautiful & Authentic Moroccan Experience!

We had a very special time in the beautiful Atlas mountains with our wonderful and knowledgeable guide Ismael. He was very friendly and kind. Visiting the Argan Oil coop was special and also we had a spectacular hike through some authentic Berber villages where khadijah, an amazing chef, along with her sister fatiha, and ali, cooked us a delicious traditional meal where we enjoyed views of the gorgeous mountains on an upper terrace deck. So special! One recommendation to anyone else going on this is to buy some candies and little toys or school supplies for the local village children you may encounter along the way! They have simple lives and would truly value this. A simple easy way to give back. Everyone was so kind. ❤️

A fantastic way to appreciate the Atlas mountains.

What a fantastic tour! Small group of 7 of us led by Mohamad who was a fabulous guide. Got to learn a lot about the Berber way of life, see how they lived first hand and the lunch was fantastic. Atlas mountains were stunning and seeing all 5 valleys and having them explained was fantastic. All in, absolutely recommended.

A superb excursion.

An excellent excursion! Mohammed, our guide, was fantastic! We met Ali, who led us on the hike. We were able to interact with Berbers and eat with the locals. A small group of 7 was just right! The bus was very comfortable despite the lack of air conditioning. The meal with the locals was very good, and the welcome was warm. The landscape is breathtaking. I recommend this activity! Be sure to bring sunscreen, hiking shoes, a hat/cap, and water! We were able to meet many children; you can bring treats and some small items like crayons, stickers, etc., they will be very happy!

Memories for a lifetime

We have just come back from an amazing day led by Sofyan. We couldnt wait to put a review because the team and all the locals who helped make the day great deserve a review with flying colours. Atlas and 5 valleys tour Im sure will be our best day in Morocco; Sofyan was so helpful and flexible ensuring our day was perfectly tailored to what we might want or need. A great teacher of berber phrases, we learnt so much about Marrakech, Berber all whilst meeting locals. Breakfast, coffee by the river, lunch with fathima was all beautifully flavoured. Sofyan helped us get some great pictures and videos along the way! Our hike guide Ali was so open and knowledgeable telling us about local ways of life, the impact of earthquake a few years ago. We were fortunate that the sun was behind clouds for most of the hike which took us around 60-90mins on medium path (beginners and hard also are options) A must excursion! And dont forget to bring small treats for local children, they dont expect it but are so grateful.

Best tour from Marrakech. Mohammed is very knowledgeable, speaks perfect English and Spanish, and has a real connection with the locals in the Atlas Mountains. Nature in abundance, great food, and very friendly and helpful people. We had a cool group that got along well. It is truly recommended.

Fabulous trip to the Atlas mountains

An absolutely beautiful day from start to finish. We were greeted by our fabulous guide Ishmail in a very accessible location in great time. He was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Ishmail drove very well, I felt safe at all times, considering the traffic around the town! We headed to join the ladies who produce Argan oil for breakfast. It was lovely. I brought some amazing goodies whilst here and the people were so lovely. Next we headed off into the mountains where we were greeted by our hiking guide Yassine. He took us on a tour of the little Berber villages. Yassine was again extremely friendly and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. We walked a while meeting children and families along the way. We were met again by Ishmail at a lovely berber family home where we had a homemade lunch cooked by our local chef Khadija and her sister Aisha. The food was absolutely delicious and plenty of it. They fed us extremely well. After lunch we headed out again to see more of the mountains. Ishmail gives lots of opportunities to stop and take photos. You really have to take this trip if you're in Marrakesh, it is totally amazing opportunity to meet such beautiful people. Thank you Ishmail
