Memorable guide and tour

A perfect trip made memorable by our tour driver/guide Dimitris. We were picked up from the cruise ship and we headed to Delphi archaeological museum and site. The splendor of this site is better described in the web sites in words but best to experience in person. There is the Oracle/Temple of Apollo as you follow up the Sacred Way, s atone monument, Ancient Theater and up at the top The Stadium all what would have been beautifully built on the Mount Parnassus slopes overlooking the Corinthian gulf far down with thick growth primarily olive groves. The day was fortunately in the 70sF, breezy and clear. Mid day in temps above mid 80s could be a bit challenging for older folks. The Archaeological museum was absorbing and we especially liked the way where the fascinating artifacts were kept closer and easily browsed through unlike most museums where we tread long distances. We took a lot of pictures and if you can please plan to spend more time here as well as the site. We had a great lunch at To Patrika Mas with spectacular view in Delphi Town. We then breezed thru Arachova which is a nice village built on slopes before turning towards Steiri. Next we stopped at a Byzantine monastery in Steiri. The 10th century structure is beautifully preserved with its golden mosaics on the ceiling overlooking a scenic valley. Nice break for an afternoon road trip. We were taken thru the highway back to Athens. As much as the sight seeing we were highly impressed by Dimitis for his wealth of information on not just the sites and history but also on wide range of topics. We would always remember his knowledge and articulation that would make any collegiate professor proud.

Doing Delphi… choose this trip.

Great day. Picked up bang on time and a skillful drive through the Athens traffic to reach the amazing Delphi museum. The landscape was amazing. Dimitris our driver and guide briefed us on essential history so we knew what to see in the museum enabling us to make the best of the visit. Then onto the site of the Temple of Apollo and the amazing ruins and surroundings. Later Dimitris drove us to a secluded viewing spot where we saw the olive groves that stretch to the sea. Dropped for a late lunch at a great local restuarant and then onto a Byzantine monastery that was breathtaking. It was a fantastic day and Dimitris was on point with the balance between facts and stories. It was all seamless. Fantastic.

A Perfect Delphi Day Trip with an Informative & Safe Guide

We had an amazing day trip to Delphi with Dimitris. From the moment we started, he made the entire journey smooth and enjoyable with his safe and comfortable driving. What really stood out was how informative he was—he shared fascinating insights about the history and significance of Delphi, which made the visit so much more meaningful. He also helped us find some incredible photo spots and even took great pictures for us, making sure we captured the best memories. His car was spotless, new, and very spacious, which made the long drive extremely comfortable. Highly recommend Dimitris if you’re planning a Delphi trip—he truly elevates the whole experience!

Great trip to Delphi

Dimitris did a fantastic job coordinating our day trip to Delphi. He picked us up at our hotel in the morning, and we stopped along the way at a beautiful working monastery he knew of. The monastery was gorgeous and we wouldn't have found it without him. He brought us on to Delphi, pointing out towns and sites and answering questions along the way. He's such a friendly and open person and was eager to share about different aspects of Greek culture and answer questions about things we saw on the road. After our visit to Delphi, he took us to a lovely town for a special meal of Kontosouvli (roast meat), which might have been the tastiest meal we ate our entire trip! On the way home, we stopped for a beautiful view of the valley where we could see olive groves reaching from the sea all the way to the mountains. A really magical sight. Dimitris was great. He knew where to stop for a clean bathroom, he drove in a calm and safe way, and he even surprised our teenagers with his favorite road snacks when we stopped to use the restroom and fill up the gas in the car. Little details he thought of that made the day just extra pleasant. I would absolutely recommend him if you are looking for someone to take you outside of Athens for a day trip. He's great. When we go back to Greece, we will definitely be contacting him again so he can take us to Meteora! Or maybe just back to that Kontosouvli place to eat again!

A full day, but worth it!!

The day started fairly early and ended pretty late, but Dimitris made it great. He made sure we had everything we needed and had even recommended a place near our hotel to grab a quick breakfast. He was pleasant and put us at ease immediately. He chatted and told us various stories along the way, but he did have a car load of sleepy travelers who had been hitting the sightseeing pretty hard for several days in a row, so he also just relaxed and let dozing passengers doze! Delphi is unique and the setting is amazing, so it did not disappoint. Dimitris is not a licensed guide, but he was knowledgeable and just chatted about his own experiences and insights on the various sights while also just hanging back and letting us explore. The seaside town of Galaxidi was cute and had lots of restaurant options for our lunch, and another little town Livadia where we stopped later for some gelato was adorable with its stream and waterfalls running right through the center of it. Dimitris was a hero just for his handling of the parking situation in that town alone!! We felt unrushed at all times, including a brief unscheduled stop per my request, but when we were ready to move along, he was prompt in having the car there and ready to go. He definitely went above and beyond to accommodate our family’s interests and desires. I wish we’d have had another day to throw his Nafplio excursion in also, as we also spent the day with him on his Cape Sounion excursion. I definitely recommend this tour and Dimitris as your driver!

Operator response

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I'm truly happy you and your family enjoyed our day exploring Delphi, Galaxidi, and the little stop in Livadia. It was a pleasure to share the day with you all. My goal is for my guests to feel relaxed and unrushed, so I'm delighted I could give you that experience. Knowing you enjoyed the Cape Sounion trip as well is the best compliment I could ask for. I would be thrilled to show you Nafplio next time you're in Greece! All the best, Dimitris Greece Revealed
