I loved the excursion! Our guide Charoula was very attentive and kind, as well as showing a lot of knowledge about the local history and mythology. I will recommend to my friends
We appreciate the enthusiastic feedback, and hope to see you again soon! Have a great day!
The best part was the guide, Koko. Funny, inteligent, engaging, comunicative, with a lot of stories, anegdotes, references. Was open to questions and even hang out with us after the tour. His whole personality really makes him stand out from other guides as he also shares some of his personal experiences (like Miška his dog on his shoulders for the pic for his business card imitating 'the good sheperd' kuros sculpture). I have a Master degree in fine Arts as I've finished the Art academy and found Koko answers deep, toughtful, with a great understanding of the matter. He would do a great job as teaching art hisrory to students and think that anyone who doesn't engage him or give him an oportunity is a fool. Also he's young and fit, energetic, somebody who truly can bring to life things when he speaks =3
Sounds like you had an amazing time, and we couldn't be happier! Thank you for your generous and kind feedback, and for including all those lovely details! It was our pleasure to host you and hope to see you again in Athens! All the best!
Turist guide Koko is the best guide I ever meet. He is fool of historical and funny informations. Wish all best!

Kimon was our guide and we joined the existing group tour at 11:30am (some of group had already been on other parts of tour) near the Acropolis in an easy-to-find yogurt shop on a pedestrian street. Kimon was very good at explaining logistics and slowly and in most cases in a shady location led us up the hill to the Acropolis - allowed us free time and we met him later at museum for museum tour. I had visited Acropolis before but it is always inspiring and fun to see. The real star of the show was the new (to me) musuem and Kimon's tour explaining things and how they related to Parthenon, etc. It was excellent. The only issue - unrelated to tour - took place on the metro. The system is pretty good but you have to watch your pockets really close and watch out for bad guys. We took metro from Pireaus Port and back and on return trip, three thugs tried to block us in by holding the metro car doors shut so we couldn't get out. I shouted expletives loudly in his face - the whole car looked their direction and whoosh the doors opened. I'm not sure what they had planned but it wasn't good and it was a frightening experience that you need to be aware of if riding the metro.
Thank you for your comment and the time you took to write it! We are glad that your meeting point was easy to find and that you enjoyed your tour with Kimon at the Acropolis and the magnificent new Museum! In Athens Walking Tours we work to offer you the best memories from Athens. Athens is one of the safest cities of Europe so we imagine that this mysterious incident at the metro could have happened anywhere. In any case, we hope that your overall stay was great!
The acropolis Walking tour with my guide (Artemis) was a real highlight of my first visit to Athens. Beyond the aesthetic vision I learned many very interesting Details about culture, religion and state Affairs of the ancient Athens State, so that the buildings were filled with life beyond their incomparable monumentality. I had time to have a look at Details, without any hurry, and i liked it very much to explore the Acropolis with Artemis, a guide as learned as enthusiastic.
We are happy you liked your tour and had all the time you needed to enjoy the details of it with Artemis, our wonderful guide who is a knowledgeable licensed guide and dedicated to her job. Thank you for your comment, we truly appreciate it!
Our guide ( Aggliky / Angela ) was very knowledgeable, she explained the history of the whole tour without hesitation. She reminded us to get drink of water, as it quite warm and always seemed shade when we stopped to regroup to listen to her.

We were met at our hotel by a wonderful guide. She took us on a easy walking tour of Athens, starting with the Parliament building and ending at the Acropolis. We learned so much from our guide about Greek history. Thank you also for taking us to the yogurt and coffee shop.

The excursion was the realization of a dream come true. Our guide was fantastic and was able to share her knowledge on the history of Athens and current events. We appreciated all her hard work taking us on our tour up to the Acropolis. The tour was great from the moment we got off our ship and met our taxi driver who took us to meet our guide until we met him again after our Acropolis tour and walk in the market area. Thank you to both for a wonderful experience.

We knew that our tour started at 9:30, but we neglected to see that we had to meet a taxi at 8:45 to get to Syntagma Metro Station to meet our tour guide. By the time that we realized this, the cab had already left, so we had to spend an additional 30 to get our own taxi to meet our guide. However, our guide, Evangelos, made up for it by continuing beyond our allotted time so that we still had a 4-hour tour.

A private tour is the way to go! It allowed us to ask questions and learn what was of particular interest to us. It is quite a trek up to the Acropolis, and we were able to sit down in the shade when we felt like it. When we came to a site, we didn't bring a mob with us, so we were able to see everything much better.

Evangelos was kind. He offered a eucalyptus drop when I coughed and brought along sun screen if we wanted it. He bought us a sample of what the Greek's eat, which was yogurt with honey and walnuts--fantastic! He was also very knowledgeable and provided us with an excellent tour. We were very happy that we chose this particular tour!
