Itinerary
You have the chance to admire the magnificent panorama of the city from Lycabetus hill at 745 ft. (277 m). Lycabettus stands high above Athens, commanding a clear view across the Attica basin and the Aegean.
UNESCO calls it the symbol of World Heritage. It’ s the symbol of democracy and Greek civilization. It’s the site of four of the greatest masterpieces of classical Greek art – the Parthenon (former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena) , the Propylaea (the monumental gateway to the Acropolis), the Erechtheum (is an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens which was dedicated to both Athena and Poseidon) and the Temple of Athena Nike.
Mars or Areopagus Hill: Upon exit from the sacred hill of Acropolis, you walk up the steep Areios Pagos rock (there are stairs )just as Apostle Paul did and preached Christ’s word for the first time in Greece. From the top of the rock, you can see the Acropolis and a panoramic view of Athens.
Continuing our Athens Tour you will admire the gigantic Temple of Olympian Zeus and Adrian's Arch. The Temple was designed to be the biggest temple in ancient time.
Panathenaic or Kallimarmaro Stadium is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble. The Stadium hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and today is used as the final point of Athens Authentic Marathon.
You will see the impressive shift change of the traditionally dressed guards (evzones) in front of the Greek parliament and the Marble Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
From Hellenic Parliament, you will visit the Athens Trilogy, the Academy of Athens, the University and the National Library, wonderful neoclassical buildings on one of the most popular Athenian Streets.
In the heyday of ancient Athenian culture and power (roughly 500 B.C.E. to the mid-300s B.C.E.), the agora was the centre of all aspects of public life. It was the centre of economic life and served as a bustling marketplace. The most important buildings are Stoa of Attalos, a reconstruction of the ancient building, completed in 1956 by the American School of Classical Studies and the Temple of Hephaestus, commissioned by Pericles and completed in 415 BC.
Acropolis Museum was built to house every artefact found on the rock and on the surrounding slopes from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. More than 4.250 objects are exhibited over an area of 14.000 square meters.
If there is time left, you will have an hour of free time in the ancient neighbourhood of Athens close to Acropolis, named Plaka. Plaka is full of people, music, typical restaurants “tavernas”, beautiful houses, cosy cafes and little shops with souvenirs. You will visit Anafiotika, a small area in Plaka that reminds you of a Cycladic island. Afterwards, we will drop you off at your residence or at the airport.

We loved this experience! It was a long day, but the driver was absolutely amazing! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, punctual, and offered us water frequently. The car was very nice and spacious. It was very convenient to ride in the car to the main tourist attractions (in the air conditioning) and hear about them and the Greek culture along the way. We added on a tour guide for the Acropolis, which we enjoyed. The driver is unable to go in with you to the attractions, so I would recommend a tour guide if you are interested in the history. I would also recommend looking up the other attractions to see if you are interested in them prior to purchasing the tickets. We purchased a lot of tickets without doing enough research and we were pretty exhausted by the end of the tour. We also enjoyed the lunch spot he recommended. Overall, this was a very memorable experience and I would highly recommend it.
Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with us. We're so happy to hear that you had a wonderful time on your tour. It's great to know that our driver was able to share his knowledge of Greek culture with you. Your tip about hiring a tour guide for the Acropolis is a great one. We're also glad that you enjoyed the lunch spot we recommended. We hope to see you again soon!

One of the best tours we have been on! Dimitrius took care of and treated us more like his family than a customer. Dimitrius' vast knowledge of history was awesome for my son's, he went into detail on every question and site. We got to see the Pantheon from both a mountain peak and going to the site, we also got to see the Coliseum, Library and Changing of the Guard. Two highlights for my teenage son's was the local restaurant we ate at and seeing where Giannis basketball court. I can't thank Dimitrius enough for such a great day.

Our driver was half hour early just so he would be there on time. He was very friendly and welcoming. We hired a private guide to help us with the tour. That was well worth while. She was very knowledgeable and explained the details that you would not get from a book. Excellent day in Athens

Had the honor of touring this amazing city today with Yannis. He was an absolute gentleman and instantly became family. We would never want to tour any part of this city ever without him. I honestly personally learned so much from this super cool man about this amazing country, it’s people, and culture in one day than I learned in all my years of school.

Our driver Dimitris was amazing!!!!! He was so warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make our day special guest with a stop for sweets as well as a little shopping. Our stops were terrific and we loved all of it. The sights were beautiful and the city alone with energy. Dimitris made us feel like we were natives! This is the way one should tour Athens!!!

Our family had a great experience, despite the hot weather, on our tour of Athens for the day. The tour host, Dimitri, made the difference and was outstanding. He offered suggestions and alternatives as to what we could do that day based on our needs. He took us to special places to eat both for brunch and dinner - and arranged an "extra" tour of the Poseidon Temple added to the end of the day at our request. He was also extremely knowledgeable about Athens and Greek history as well as local culture.
