The food was very hit or miss. Nothing seemed especially Greek to be honest, except maybe a phyllo dough pie with spinach. The places we went were touristy with other tour groups at most of the places. There was quite a bit of food, but hardly any drinks, just a very small glass of wine and a small shot of some Greek liqueur. They did supply water. The tour guide was very nice, but he kept saying he did not like/eat most of the food we were served. That was off putting. Ultimately, it was not a great tour for us, but the other couple on the tour seemed to like it so who knows.
Lef was an amazing tour guide. It was the first thing my wife and I did upon arriving to Athens. Amazing food, amazing banter and ELITE ball knowledge about two legends I hold near and dear to my heart (Allen Iverson and Brian Dawkins, Philly sports legends.) Truly an awesome way to kick off our trip and experience the tastes of Athens. 10 out of 5 stars, would 200% recommend. GO BIRDS!
If you are looking for an evening food tour in Athens, THIS is the one. We ate so much good food and learned so much along the way. I almost exploded from fullness waddling back to my hotel. I liked it so much I booked the morning tour in a few days.
This was so worth it!! Our guides, Maria and Ana were so fun. They told us all about Greek food while we were walking to each place. Our first stop was an authentic gyro that was the best everyone in my group raved about. Each place got better and better along the way. If you want true authentic Greek food where the locals eat, then this tour is for you!
We had Maria as our guide. It ended up being just my husband and I so we had our own personal tour for over 3 hours. Maria was personable, funny and very informative. She brought us to many places in Athens to explore and to try the different foods of Athens: Greek yogurt, cheeses, meats, spanakopita, etc. We were so full but walking to the different parts of the city helped get some exercise. We were so glad we did this tour. We highly recommend it!
Great food tour! Tons of local foods and the guide was amazing.
We had such a lovely time on the Athens Food on Foot Tour with our guide Maria. She was amazing — so friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Athens. We learned so much, not only about the history, but also about everyday life in Athens today. She shared so many interesting stories along the way that made the whole experience feel really personal and authentic. We were a small group — just the three of us plus Maria — which made it feel super cozy and relaxed. It honestly felt more like spending the day with a local friend than being on a tour. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and it ended up being one of our favorite experiences in Athens. Would definitely recommend!
The tour was very informative and lots of fun. We tasted many new foods and walked to places we probably would not have found on our own. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens. Thank you so much!
I do food tours whenever I visit a European city, and this was my favorite! Lots of small, tasty bites, just enough walking, and an appropriate amount of non culinary information. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable.
It was fantastic! So much fun and so much delicious food. Our guide Penny was the greatest. She gave us the history behind the foods we were given. She was very easy to talk to and we really enjoyed our evening with her.
