Itinerary

60 min

The Acropolis is the most popular attraction in Athens. The site of the sanctuary has been inhabited since the Neolithic period but reached its greatness under the reconstruction program of Pericles in the mid-5th century BC. Many of its major temples, like the Parthenon and the Erechtheion, were then rebuilt in the form that we know today.

60 min

The Parthenon is the most famous one and the best preserved. The decorative marble and statues are considered to be some of the best examples of ancient Greek art. Over time, the facade as well as the function of the Acropolis changed tremendously, especially in the Byzantine and Ottoman periods.

120 min

New Acropolis Museum: The museum opened on June 20th 2009. Every year it welcomes ca. 2 million visitors due to its unique exhibits coming exclusively from the Acropolis area. It is situated 300 metres opposite from the Acropolis archeological site.

60 min

Herakleidon Museum is a private art museum in Athens. It was founded in 2004 and for 10 years its primary focus was on the fine arts hosting parallel various cultural happenings. The last years it has evolved in an interactive centre for popularized science based on the philosophy ‘Science, Art & Mathematics’.

120 min

Hellenic Motor Museum is located in a unique building in terms of architecture and design. Its exhibitions are dedicated to the evolution of the car and display more than 110 cars from the 19th and the 20th century.

120 min

Visit the Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Greek Technology in the heart of Athens, just a few steps from the Greek Parliament. On a total area of 700 square meters, you have the opportunity to get to know a relatively unknown aspect of ancient Greek culture. The exhibition includes around 100 selected exhibits which tell you more about the origins of technologies, from the robot-servant and the "cinema" of Philon to the automatic theater of Heron, and from the Hydraulic Clock of Ktesibios to the Antikythera Mechanism. Enjoy a hands-on experience on fully functional models and check out the museum gift shop where you may buy handmade models, copies of the museum exhibits made by Marios Kotsanas.

120 min

The Kotsanas Museum houses about 42 fully functional reconstructions of ancient Greek musical instruments and games. The museum is one of the most complete and authentic of its kind in the world. Some of the exhibits that can be admired are, for example, the helicon and the sixth string of Pythagoras, the lyre of Hermes, the magnificent guitar of Apollo, the Homeric phorminx, the harp of Sappho, the Ptolemaic helicon, the Pan flute. Don't miss to listen to the most ancient worldwide known song of Seikilos and get to know the “hydraulis of Ktesibios, the first keyboard instrument in the world. Also, don't forget to play with the Archimedes' (O)stomachion, the first puzzle in history and the Trias, the first tic- tac- toe game of history!

120 min

The Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum is one of the few of its kind in the world and the first to present Greek jewelry art. The museum focuses on silver and goldsmith art and contemporary studio jewelry. You will be presented with 50 collections designed and maintained by Ilias Lalaounis, the museum's founder. Ilias Lalaounis was a jeweller and artist and became world-famous for the creation of luxurious gold jewelry. The museum continues to enrich its collection with contemporary art jewelry by Greek and international artists.

120 min

Enter the fascinating world of illusions, which will trick your confidence in senses, but surprises you as well. The Museum that will confuse you completely, but also educates you. Visit the Museum of Illusions in Athens and you will be thrilled, because nothing is what it seems.

120 min

Dive into Greece's fascinating military history! The Athens War Museum is the largest of its kind in Greece and one of the most significant in Southeastern Europe. Our one-day Athens total disaster.

We booked a Turbo Pass on Big Bus through Viator and Trip Advisor which included 10 attractions and entry to the Acropolis all prepaid at $cdn 224.00. We received a confirmation and bar code with a confirmation number. We arrived for pickup and the bus company couldn’t find the booking and said we needed a QR code which had never been sent to us. A total ruined day of going to see the amazing Acropolis. We deserve a total refund but instead were totally ignored. Joe Krapiec. joekrapiec@gmail.com

Great!

Athens is really a great and exciting city – delicious food, beautiful sights and very warm people. The City Pass was awesome and once again allowed us to travel stress-free. The Acropolis ticket was directly included and we had a visit time of 11am – just perfect in December. Especially practical: The hop-on hop-off bus even went to the port town of Piraeus, so we really saw a lot. Value for money was excellent. Clear recommendation!

Top Pass for Athens - Acropolis time via customer service change (24h before)

Great pass and top time for Acropolis – I was even able to adjust my times up to 24 hours in advance via customer service. The digital passport is very practical, without much paper. Customer service is very friendly and helpful. Everything has its advantages, including audio guides that are perfect for getting to know the city. My tip: First explore the city with the hop-on hop-off and then visit the individual attractions in peace. Clear recommendation of the pass!

Don't buy if you're disabled as a lot of the sites are free entry for disabled people

I bought the turbopass thinking it was good value for money. However as my mum is disabled we couldn't access a lot of the acropolis site like slopes and had to cut out time there short due to rain. Then with the hop on /off tour the stop for the Rivera tour was changed last minute meaning we missed the 12:20 depart the day. So I ended up paying another €27 euro for a taxi to get to kavouri beach as other public transport wasn't accessible. Also if you're a disabled person then you can get free entry into the acropolis and museums. In the end if I'd known about free admission as a disabled person I would have only needed to pay for the hop on/off bus so I'd have only ended up paying about £255 in total in comparison to the £390 I paid for a 5 day pass for two people. Personally for our family it wasn't worth it - if you're abled bodied then yes it's probably more worth it but I wouldn't choose to buy it again.

Operator response

We are very sorry that the information about discounts for people with disabilities and changes to the hop-on/hop-off bus was unclear. We understand that this was very frustrating. We would have been happy to help you find the best options for your situation before your trip. Thank you for your feedback—it helps us improve our service.

Poor value, poor customer service.. JUST DONT BUY

Poor range of included attractions, only the Acropolis and Acropolis museum are worth anything. The hop on hop off bus is great but easy enough and cheaper to purchase at stops. Bought the add on 5 day travel option which was unusable, tried to get support but was ignored... The pass is complicated to use and poor value. We travel extensively and have used city passes all around Europe, this one is the only one to disappoint and frustrate. DONT BUY THIS PASS

Satisfied despite an anomaly

I bought Turbopass for Athens and used it for transport, the Acropolis, the Hop on Hop off bus, Acropolis museum and the Automobile museum. I decided to give 5 stars because I am confident that they will go to fix a couple of anomalies found. After my stay I pointed out these inefficiencies and was reimbursed for having to pay for admission to the Acropolis due to the failure to issue two pdf tickets. Otherwise very convenient at a price, at least for Athens, advantageous.

Really practical for Athens

We were in Athens at the beginning of July and had the Turbopass – was fully worth it. Acropolis went in super fast, not a long line. Other sights such as Agora or the Acropolis Museum were also easy with it. The hop-on hop-off bus was worth real gold in the heat, even went to the port with it. Important: You have to read everything carefully beforehand and plan it a bit, otherwise it will be complicated. But when you do that, it's relaxed and you save yourself a lot of stress. Had a question once – Ann from support was mega helpful and super fast, thank you again for that! Would book again!

Very unhappy

We used Viator for several of our activities in Rome and Athens. It is not user friendly. Not at all. Instead of having your ticket in the app after purchasing, you actually receive an additional email letting you know you have to go somewhere else to validate your ticket. They do not make it easy to do this. It’s very confusing to find the meeting spot and it’s not marked. One time it was just a man standing outside a restaurant. Regarding my Athens experience, I did not thoroughly read the email that was sent after I purchased the ticket. Apparently I had to choose a time to go to Acropolis /the Parthenon. I didn’t do that and so the time was assigned to me early in the morning. We did not get off our cruise until that time and there was no way to make our appointment. Viator was not very accommodating and wouldn’t work with me. I end up having to buy another ticket on site. very frustrating. I will not be using Viator for of my trips going forward.

Operator response

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience — we’re truly sorry to hear it didn’t go as smoothly as expected. In Rome, we use a ticket collection process to give customers the flexibility to choose their preferred time slots for top attractions, since many sites require advance reservations. For Athens, we do list the time range for visiting the Acropolis on our website, and we can help adjust your assigned time if contacted — though this is only possible up to 24 hours in advance due to site regulations. We're sorry for the inconvenience caused and agree: reading all post-booking details carefully is very important, especially with timed-entry sites. We appreciate your feedback and hope we’ll have a chance to provide a smoother experience in the future. Best regards, Your Turbopass Team
