Itinerary
Vibrant Psyrri centers on Iroon Square, whose surrounding streets have eateries offering meze and live music, including rembetika (Greek blues). Bars with DJs stay open late, as do tavernas serving traditional specialties like meatballs and Greek salad. Small artisan shops, often decorated with graffiti, sell handmade leather bags, indie fashions and offbeat homewares.
It's a Wine & Deli Bar located in the picturesque neighborhood of Psyri.
Lively Monastiraki is known for iconic landmarks including the ruins of Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora and the rebuilt Stoa of Attalos, with a museum exhibiting Athenian artifacts. Monastiraki Flea Market is a jumble of shops selling artisanal soaps, handmade sandals and souvenir T-shirts. The surrounding streets are crammed with traditional tavernas and restaurants, many with Acropolis views.
In the shadow of the Acropolis and its ancient temples, hillside Plaka has a village feel, with narrow cobblestone streets lined with tiny shops selling jewelry, clothes and local ceramics. Sidewalk cafes and family-run tavernas stay open until late, and Cine Paris shows classic movies al fresco. Nearby, the whitewashed homes of the Anafiotika neighborhood give the small enclave a Greek-island vibe.
“Feyrouz” is a hidden spot, in the historical Athen's center, next to Aiolou street. It's aim is to present to the visitors the small, gastronomical family histor

The walking tour was a fun and informative way to see different parts of Athens. Maria was very knowledgable. I suggest doing the tour on the early end of your visit.
Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed exploring different parts of Athens and found the tour informative. Doing it early in your trip is great advice. We appreciate your feedback!
This tour was amazing. It was perfect for our first night in Athens. Maria took us all over Plaka and Monastiraki and showed us great places to shop and recommended tons of out-of-the-way local places to eat during our stay. We stopped at a cute wine bar for cheese, olives, and wine, then to a great gyros spot, got Greek donuts for dessert, and finally stopped at a lovely rooftop bar for a cocktail. The pace was perfect and Maria even gifted us a song with some street musicians. She was very friendly and even helped me find some of those olives after I got home. It was a memorable experience and I'm very glad we did it, especially on our first night.
Our tour guide Maria Ketikidou was amazing! She was right on time to meet us at the meeting location. We actually got started a few minutes early and she was extremely knowledgeable. It was our very first day in Athens, so she gave us a lot of great recommendations for the rest of our trip as far as places to eat and things to see. She got some pictures for us and was very personable. The food and drinks were amazing and we got to try things we would’ve never done. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and would not hesitate to book another tour with her again when we go back.
Really exceptional!!!! Maria was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Very knowledgable…great guide.
Our tour guide, Maria Ketikidou was absolutely wonderful. She gave us a detailed tour. She made us feel at home and we had wonderful conversation. She is one of the best people we have encountered in Greece thus far. Truly a wonderfully night.
Maria was the absolut best Guide we ever had. She is a heartwarming guide who loves her job and makes the tour feel like a close friend showing us around the city. It was a perfect mix of walking around, sightseeing and drinking and eating in delicious local bars and restaurants. We had wonderful conversations and inside story about the city and all kind of other themes. We can highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to experience a tour around the city and it’s nightlife (bars, restaurants, local inside tips, story’s and districts). Thank you for this beautiful evening Maria and your fantastic way of connecting the group. Greetings Tim, Heribert and Sabine
Maria was amazing very informative and a delightful person to talk too she made our first night in athens very memorable showed us all the main spots and gave great suggestions for restaurants and bars and shopping
This was a fantastic experience! Dorella showed us a wonderful time! It was awesome to be shown the city from a native’s perspective! The food and drinks were amazing. We spent a magical four hours really getting to experience Athens! I give 10 stars if I could!
Panos was great! There was 7 of us so it was only us on the tour. He answered any questions we came up with. Definitely had plenty of food! By the end we couldn't eat anymore.
A bit disappointed. I have done drinks and food tours in other cities and this wasn’t at all what I’ve experienced in the past. A lot of waiting when we arrived at a restaurant. When tour was finished we went looking for somewhere to get some food!
Dear Joann, thank you for your feedback. It makes us better, and we will consider it. Unfortunately, the waiting at the restaurant was out of our hands since the authentic local restaurants have a policy of not accepting reservations. It is more a drinking and food sample tour than a food tour. The tour includes a beer, a cocktail, a glass of wine, platters of hams, cheeses, boat pizza, and greek tapas. I hope next time you will give us a chance and make a better version for you. This is not a food tour, though; it has food tastings. Yours Sincerely, Panos
