Your tour begins at the iconic Greek Parliament, where you'll witness the impressive Changing of the Guard ceremony at Syntagma Square. Your host will share insights into the history and symbolism behind the Evzones' traditional uniform, the significance of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the role of the Greek Parliament in the country's political landscape.
Next, we’ll stroll through the charming streets of Plaka, the oldest neighborhood in Athens. Your host will guide you to the grand Metropolitan Cathedral and the historic Small Mitropolis, before exploring the lively heart of Plaka. As we walk along Tripodon Street, the oldest in Europe, you’ll discover the impressive Lysicrates Monument and hear stories of its connection to ancient theatrical competitions.
From Plaka, we’ll ascend into the hidden gem of Anafiotika, a picturesque neighborhood that feels like a Greek island within the city. With its whitewashed houses, narrow alleys, and blooming bougainvillea, this charming area offers a peaceful escape. As we reach the top, you'll be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of Athens, showcasing its historic landmarks and vibrant cityscape.
Next, we’ll walk around the Ancient Agora, once the vibrant center of political and social life in ancient Athens. From our route, you'll have a perfect view of the magnificent Temple of Hephaestus, one of the best-preserved temples of antiquity, and the impressive Stoa of Attalus. As we explore, you'll also enjoy stunning views of the Acropolis rising majestically above the city.
After an incredible journey through history, it's time to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner at a fantastic restaurant. Here, you'll savor authentic Greek cuisine, made with fresh, local ingredients, and experience the true flavors of Greece in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Our next stop is Monastiraki, one of the most vibrant and historic squares in Athens. Here, you'll see the Tzistarakis Mosque, a remnant of the Ottoman era, and catch a glimpse of the ancient Iridanus River, which once flowed through the heart of the city. As night falls, you'll experience the lively atmosphere of Monastiraki, where bustling cafes, street performers, and illuminated landmarks bring Athens to life.
From Monastiraki, we continue to Hadrian’s Library, an impressive Roman-era structure built by Emperor Hadrian in 132 AD. Your host will explain its historical significance as a center of learning and philosophy in ancient Athens. As we admire its grand columns and ancient ruins, you’ll get a glimpse into the city’s rich past.
Next, we make our way to the Roman Agora, a marketplace built during the Roman era that became a key commercial and social hub of ancient Athens. Here, you'll see the striking Gate of Athena Archegetis and the famous Tower of the Winds, an ancient timekeeping marvel. Emily lead a fun and dynamic tour of Athens. She was engaging and connected with everyone in the group. I enjoyed how we walked through various neighborhoods. Since this was our first day in Athens, it was a great way to get to know the city. Emily answered our questions about where to go explore next (the botanical garden!). She gave us some good tips about local restaurants to try. Very nice experience overall.
Amazing walking tour experience with our wonderful tour guide Emily! The tour truly immersed us on the beautiful sights and the Greek culture. One of the highlights is the dinner experience...we truly enjoyed it. I definitely recommend this tour...it was well worth for my family!

Emilia did a fabulous job with her tour of Athens. She was so knowledgeable about all the sights and made sure we didnt miss a thing. She was patient with those who needed a little slower walk and her excitement about the highlights of Athens glowed. She took us to a lovely dinner with so much food we couldn't finish it all. If you are up for a walking tour this is a night that won't disappoint!

Our guide, Theo, was awesome. At the beginning of the tour he told us or brains would be overloaded with information, he was right. We also had like 13000 steps. If I could retake the tour I would, but this time recording it or taking notes! The food was also good. Honestly, if I ever go back to Athens I will retake this tour. It truly was a highlight of our Athens stay.
I loved this !! I solo traveled for the first time so I didn’t want to go out at night alone - this small group tour was perfect , keep in mind it is roughly 4 hours of walking a bit up hill and some up stairs, I walk a lot anyways this didn’t effect me it was great . But there were some that didn’t realize how much walking it was . Regardless I loved it and had a great time I wouldn’t have seen any of the stops we made if it wasn’t for this tour . The tour guide angel was wonderful, he waited at the end of the tour to make sure everyone got to their hotels on the way or into an uber or taxi at the end of the night which I thought was really great specifically for solo travellers like myself . I had a great time on this one

This was the highlight of our time in Athens. Our guide, Katarina, was a gem. She has a background in archaeology, and her passion for what she was showing us, and her pride in Greece’s rich history added to our time with her. She welcomed my questions, and conversation was easy. We saw so many different areas, each unique. Dinner at the end was tasty, and a nice way to connect personally. We loved every minute of it, and learned so much. I highly recommend this tour (and Katarina.)
