Athens All Included: Acropolis and Museum Guided Tour with Ticket

Description
This tour connects the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum into one complete story. Rather than seeing monuments and artifacts separately, you first explore the Acropolis with an expert guide, then continue to the museum to understand how its sculptures, reliefs, and architectural elements once belonged to the temples above. With a small group and a licensed local guide, the experience is paced, informative, and easy to follow, helping first-time visitors grasp the historical, artistic, and human context behind the sites. Pre-reserved tickets ensure smooth entry, while the museum visit—including the Parthenon Gallery and Archaic Gallery—adds depth and clarity that a standalone visit can’t provide.

Itinerary
Meet your small group at the Acropolis metro station and get acquainted with your licensed Greek guide, who will outline the day’s itinerary before you begin your walk through the Acropolis.
Escape the crowds and explore the Acropolis on a carefully paced small-group walking tour led by an expert local guide. As you walk through this legendary site, you’ll be immersed in the history, mythology, and ideas that shaped ancient Greece and continue to influence the world today. With pre-reserved tickets, you’ll skip the long queues and begin your visit smoothly. Rising above Athens, the Acropolis is the city’s most iconic monument—a symbol of artistic brilliance, civic pride, and architectural achievement. Your guided walk includes the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Propylaea, and the legendary Parthenon, each revealing a different layer of ancient Athenian life and belief.
Step into the heart of ancient Athens with a guided visit to the Parthenon, the crowning monument of the Acropolis. Dedicated to Athena, the city’s patron goddess, this extraordinary temple embodies the ideals, ambition, and artistic brilliance of Athens at its golden age. As you explore the site, your expert guide reveals how the Parthenon was designed, built, and used, and why it came to symbolize democracy, power, and cultural achievement. Through stories, architectural details, and historical context, the monument comes alive as far more than a ruin—it becomes a window into the world that shaped Western civilization.
Pass through the Propylaea, the monumental gateway that once marked the ceremonial entrance to the Acropolis. Designed to impress and prepare visitors for the sacred spaces beyond, this grand structure set the tone for religious festivals and processions in ancient Athens. As you explore its marble columns and architectural details, your expert guide explains the Propylaea’s role in Athenian ritual life and how its design reflected the city’s power, order, and artistic ambition.
Get an excellent understanding of this magnificent part of the Acropolis from your expert local guide. Visualize the Acropolis of the fifth century BC, still one of the most accurate reflections of the splendor, power, and wealth of that era. Enjoy Athens as it was at its highest peak, during the golden age of Perikles.
Here you can enjoy the views over the city and all the way to the Aegean Sea. Follow your guide on a different route towards the south exit so that you also see the Altar of Asclepius and the Theater of Dionysus, the birthplace of theater and drama.
Discover the temples on the north side of the Acropolis that most visitors miss out on. Take a break after you walk through the temples that primarily housed the earlier Athenian cults and those of the Olympian gods.
Continue to the Acropolis Museum for the second part of your experience. Designed to complement the visit to the Acropolis itself, the museum offers a deeper understanding of the monuments you’ve just explored. Walk across its striking glass floors and look down onto the archaeological excavations beneath the building as your guide introduces highlights of ancient Greek art and daily life. Inside, see original sculptures and architectural elements from the Acropolis temples and learn how they once fitted into their historical and cultural context. In the Parthenon Gallery, your guide will explain the story of the famous Elgin Marbles and their significance. The guided visit concludes in the Archaic Gallery, home to remarkable statues that predate the Acropolis monuments. Afterward, you’re welcome to remain in the museum at your own pace or step outside to enjoy views over the modern city.

Great time at Museum and metropolis. The guide was very knowledge. 4 hours just exactly to see everything.
Very experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. Highlight of our vacation. Our tour guide brought the past into focus and gave us a sense of what it would have been like to be there
Very educational, the guide went at a good pace and answered all of our questions. Would recommend it to everyone.
Wear good walking shoes as there’s a fair bit of walking. It was great having a guide to give you explanation of what you’re looking at and the history behind all the monuments.
The tour begins in the museum, which s essential before seeing the Acropolis. Lisa, our guide, was very thorough and informative.
This is a wonderful history tour. Very thoughtful and friendly. Lisa is truly professional with much kindness.
Really skilled guide. However, there were no piss breaks and difficulty getting around by car to the meeting place. But fortunately they were waiting for us even though we were a few minutes late.
This was the 3rd time in our lives we visited this site, our first with a guided tour. Clients should understand that unless you are hardy, well hydrated and have the agility and sure-footedness of a mountain goat, the climb is hard - even in the comparative cool of early morning! There are virtually NO handrails, paths are unpaved, narrow, and often strewn with loose stones and potholes. The crowds are far greater than our past experiences, and can be claustrophobic on stairways and confined areas. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic but the audio equipment provided did a poor job of conveying that, both indoors and out. Despite all those caveats, the site is magnificent and the new Museum is exceptionally well done. The Museum is accessible to those less physically able, and I think that would best be done with a private guide. It has enormous windows overlooking the site and offers a very acceptable alternative to the arduous ascent!
I will never again visit historical sights during my travels without a professional guide. We did Rome prior to arriving in Athens. I can say I “visited” the Roman Colosseum. By contrast I experienced the Acropolis and Museum. Our guide was Froso. What a champion. She was knowledgeable and passionate. Her tour made me change the way our group will experience travel going forward. We had six in our group and Froso was loved by all of them. She had the right amount of rest. Washroom breaks. We were fortunate that we had a great breeze under full sun. She always found shade. She was really an expert story teller. The group hung off of every word. She had the group of 14s full attention for three hours. Athens is incredible. We learned so much by doing this tour with Froso. What an incredible day.
Very good tour with lots of information. Our guide was great about trying to keep us in the shade whenever possible as it was hot. The outdoor tour of the acropolis was very informative and you had a bit of time to wander and take photos. And the tour of the museum was good as there is a lot in the museum so it was really helpful for our guide to show us the high points.
