The south gate of Angkor Thom is a very famous spot within Angkor Archeological Park and one that shouldn’t be missed. Standing on the causeway, and admiring the sheer scale, as you find yourself drifting back in time to imagine how it must have felt to approach this spectacular city in its heydey is quite simply an experience you will hold forever. The Southern Gate of Angkor Thom, or Tonle Om Gate, is one of the five ancient gates dated to the 12th century providing access through the 8m high laterite walls of Angkor Thom. The South Gate features the best-restored causeway, revealing the awe-inspiring effect that surely must have been one of the original intentions of its ancient master architects. In its day, there would have been no doubt that you were entering the realm of the gods and looking upon one of the world’s truly great wonders, an effect it has still till this day.

Amazing first trip to Ankor Wat!

We had the best experience with Choun! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the temples and knew the best time to arrive at which to avoid crowds. He was so kind and made our first visit to Ankor Wat a truly amazing experience. We are excited to return to Siem Reap and explore Kulen Mountain in the future with Choun. Thank you again!

Excellent, affordable guide

Choun is an excellent, relaxed guide who's perfect for travelers who've done their own research and reading and who want to have an independent experience. He doesn't lead you through the monuments; he introduces them briefly and then lets you walk by yourselves. Travelling by tuktuk rather than car is an adventure in itself—everyone should do it once if you've never ridden in one before. I wound up booking him for a second day trip by car to Phnom Kulen (the sacred mountain, where there's a swimmable waterfall) and the jungle temple Beng Mealea (highly recommended!)

Private tuk tuk with breakfast break

The tour guide we had was absolutely amazing. He spoke very good English and he was extremely helpful and friendly. He knew all about the history of not just Angkor wat but all of Cambodia. He also gave us as many water bottles as we needed. The tour itself was very good and intresting with a lot of temples to look at.

Angkor Wat and Atta Phrom

We had a lovely tour guide, we really enjoyed the experience. The weather didn't allow us to finish the trip, it rained so heavily, but June took us to take photos outside Bayon temple on the rain. I recommend the experience, we just didn't pick the right season

Beautiful experience

Choun was a knowledgable, helpful guide! He had cool water always ready for us after each temple and allowed for a breakfast stop on the sunrise tour. He spoke very good English and explained a little about each site before we went into explore - he even came and collected us from a different gate of one of the temples after we got a little lost to save us walking back! Very enjoyable, friendly experience I would definitely recommend.

Friendly, on time tour guide

Choun was a very friendly and great tour guide. We did the Angkor Wat sunrise tour. He does not come around the temples with you but meets you at each stop and educates you on each temple before you enter. He also transported us to a few other places around the city as a driver. His English is very good and he’s great at answering any questions and for learning more about Cambodia. He was always on time, if not early, and was very responsive on WhatsApp. There was some confusion over the pricing of the tours, it ended up being per person not per vehicle. But was still reasonably priced! He has a tuk tuk and car available. I’d definitely recommend Choun to anyone coming to Siem Reap. He was so kind and friendly!

Very good service that makes a great tour possible.

Very nice tour with Sean to the temples in Siem Reap. After a brief explanation of each temple, I was dropped off, and the time frame was briefly discussed - which is very flexible - to explore the temple at my own pace. Afterward, I was picked up at an agreed meeting point, and we continued to the next stop. Sean was very nice and helpful; I can only recommend the tour!

Excellent Tour

I highly recommend Choun, as he is not only an amazing guide, but also a very friendly and a genuinely lovely guy. Choun is extremely knowledgeable about all the temples we visited and the history of Cambodia, I was able to learn so much. He planed a fantastic itinerary to see the temples and he is knowledgeable when it's the best time to visit each temple to avoid the large bus tours. At the Sunrise tour Choun took me to a spot where there was an excellent view without having to deal with the crowds. As an added bonus Choun is an excellent photographer and knew all the best spots to get incredible pictures. Also loved the bottled water and cold towels which were always available whenever I wanted. Thank you Choun for going above and beyond to make Siem Reap and the temples an unforgettable experience and thank you for being very caring and for your kindness.

Sunset Pre Rup and Grand Circle

We had an amazing afternoon tour with sunset at Pre Rup and the Grand Circle temples around Angkor Archaeological Park 😊 Our driver was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He explained the history and meaning of the temples very well and always gave us enough time to explore and enjoy each place without feeling rushed. The route was perfectly organized, and the sunset at Pre Rup was absolutely beautiful. He also knew many great photo spots and shared interesting information about Cambodian culture and temple history along the way. Everything was smooth, comfortable, and relaxed from beginning to end. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a memorable Angkor experience! 🙏✨
