I usually do not write negative reviews but the van accommodations were overcrowded.. My husband and I were in the furthest back seat along with another couple and neither of us had a full seat. I was wrenched back in the corner and could not sit straight or back, and my husband had to cross his arms just to be able to squeeze into half a seat. The tour guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. You stop at four stops, which are okay. This would be a much better experience if the owners did not book as full.
We are sorry about your experience. If you would have mentioned something to your tour guide, she would been able to accommodate you, but instead you chose to write a negative review. Perhaps your next tour, you should choose to take a private tour, you so could have as much room as you wanted, and have a say in what stops you were taking.
It was a great trip. The places we stopped were very interesting! Dan our driver made our trip so much more enjoyable with his narration and he is a wealth of information!!
Our tour guide, Joan, was superb. She was a constant stream of wonderful information, all while navigating the city streets. Joan’s stories were engaging, and her personal history in Anchorage added so much to the experience. The coach was a bit cramped, but we all made it work.
Our tour guide was warm, funny and informative. She made the tour interesting. We enjoyed the stops. The German sausage and candy stores very nice to let us sample their wares. Overall an excellent tour.
Joan was very knowledgeable we were lucky to have her. She made it fun as we learned about the history of Alaska. I would take the tour again.
Chocolates-good stuff!,❤️❤️❤️
The experience was very informative. Our guide is a local born and raised Alaskan who is living and breathing the Alaskan culture and it's unique ways every day of her life. She was passionate, patient, humorous, respectful every step of the way. Our group had a lot of questions, all of which were answered patiently and in detail. If you are interested in Alaskan culture and have 3.5 hours to spare, this is the one trip you must do!
Joanie AKA Willow was a tremendous tour guide and very informative about life in Alaska. We learned so much from her and she made each stop a better one with her narratives.
Dan is the man! He was personable and fun. He really went out of his way to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves and having a good time. You could tell he loved what he was doing and where he was. The samples were an extra special treat!
The tour was nice we saw and learned a lot. At the beginning of the tour our guide informed all 14 guests that there would not be any talking about religion, politics, homelessness or the way some people live. Everyone was ok with that. We started the tour everything seemed fine. There were a few stops that the guide Joan “Willo” would explain what we would see and if it was something that would upset us or we didn’t agree with you could stay in the van and wait. At some stops it seemed like she wanted us to not go in which at this point it seemed like she was pushing her agenda and opinions on us. Towards the end of the tour Joan let us all know that we were the worse group she had ever had and we had hurt her to her core. No one knew what had happened. We all felt like we were little children get a lecture from her. She told us multiple times she would give us she company’s card if we wanted to file a complaint which I think is strange . I didn’t see anyone take a card or tip her. Everyone said thanks and goodbye. We didn’t have any problems with the tour just the guide.
Thank you for your review and we will talk to Joan. She had contacted us and mentioned that a couple passengers were being rude and demeaning to her. Joan has many 5 star reviews and folks really enjoy her tours. Thank you for your imput and we do hope you come back to visit.
