I've loved Tina Turner since I was a child, and Ms Carolyne was phenomenal in embodying the essence of the hardest working woman in show business. Despite the fact that we were a very small 'early bird' audience (5pm), she gave us the same energy you would expect on a Friday night. An accomplished performer in her own right, her impersonation of Tina was SPOT ON. She had fun with it and we were so entertained! The opening Whitney segment was well put together, and a lot of fun, but her talents really shine in the lower register. I am not as familiar with Whitey Houston (outside of the really big hits) would have loved to hear 'exhale', but regardless, Carolyne Scott has some pipes, and I am definitely going back to LaMarre!
Tina Turner and Whitney Houston show was absolutely amazing. The entire program was engaging and fun. I recommend this show when you visit Las Vegas.
My wife took me on my birthday there, she bought the VIP (dinner included) it is an small place, not good looking, the only one singer is talented, she sang two Whitney’s song and four Tina’s songs. We never got the dinner during the show. When the show finished we spoke to the person in the front desk, she apologized and promised us a refund between 24 hours which never happened. Please be advised that they lie at the advertising. I really don’t recommend this show, it is not worth it.
The show was ok. The singer does a decent job. She does better with the Tina songs than the Whitney songs. It was ok. I wouldn’t see it again nor recommend it to others. More time was spent watching video footage of Whitney and Tina than hearing their songs. Felt slightly disappointed.
I have to say I didn’t hate this but it was not what I was expecting. If this had been a free show in a casino bar I’d have said it was actually pretty good, it had good energy and the singer gave a good passionate performance for which I thank her. However this cost the best part of £100 ($116) for 2 people and for that price, to say I expected more would be an understatement. After walking straight past the venue, which had no lights or signage outside saying what it was, we eventually found it and come inside. We sat in a small waiting area with 3 other couples. No food or drinks were available. At the start time the 8 of us were hearded into the theatre where the show was to take place, walked past the ‘posh’ shinny tables and sat at the seats at the back. After 10 minutes of looking very confuse waiting for something to happen we were told we could move forward if we wished. We did and the performance started a couple of minutes later, a combination of old video footage and interviews with both artists split up the 7 songs that were preformed. The equipment was not working great and for the first couple of songs the mic kept cutting out and 2/4 couples left after the second song. Overall we had a good night and it gave us something to laugh about. It could easily have been so much better though, tickets should have been half the price they were, and that money made up on food/drinks. if we had arrived, been taken straight through to a shiny table and offered food/drinks made to feel like you were sitting in a Las Vegas lounge bar waiting for a show to start, which is how the theatre was laid out, it just wasn’t carried through to the experience. If the songs were coming thick and fast rather than at least half the show being old footage I’ve seen before on the many documentaries etc I’ve watch. The whole nigh would have been a different experience. As Tina the singer did do a bit of interactive ‘in character’ talking where she portrait some of those interview and that would have been so much better than the old video clips in between each song. The experience could have been longer with the documentary stuff taking up the first 15-20 mins waiting for people to arrive and get settled etc served drinks and nibbles. small changes would have made the whole thing so much better and it’s a shame that they didn’t so my 3 stars are for the singer herself, not the show/the venue or the overall experience, as if she hadn’t have been so lovely I’d have given 1 star but with a few small tweaks they could easily have achieved 5 so overall disappointing, I wouldn’t recommend to a fried and I wouldn’t do it again but we had a good night so not all bad.
It was horrible it's in a sketchy part of town. It was like an a restaurant or something and in the back they had seats where you can watch the performance, but it was just dirty. The TV that you watched Whitney's interviews on it's just fully grainy it's just really bad me and my girlfriend were laughing the whole time how bad it was save your money. The sound was horrible. it was like wasted money, but we did have a good laugh.
her mannerisms voice song selection throughout Tina Turners career made me feel like it was actually her. I believe this actress will success with her show for many years. It was great 👍
Amazing Show! I feel compelled to say a huge thank you to the staff, they did their job beyond what they needed to do…. We had an incident with a family member who needed to leave the show at half time. The staff were compassionate to our needs and made it easy for us to exit the show without any fuss They were our Guardian angels that night, when we needed them and I now need to thank you again Aiveen Atkinson
Carolyn was very authentic. She talked, sang and danced just like Tina. At first I was disappointed it was recorded music and not a live band, but once she started singing it didn’t matter. The theater is small but not fancy but I am there for the show. The person who wrote the bad review was totally wrong and off base. This lady sang and danced her ass off and was just excellent. Go to this show, you will love it!
First off, the venue felt more like a high school auditorium than a professional theater. The seats were cramped, and I spent the entire show wishing I had brought a cushion. The sound quality was horrendous, making it nearly impossible to hear the vocals over the blaring backing track. I expected to hear the power and passion of Tina's music, but instead, it sounded like a karaoke night gone horribly wrong.
