Cotswolds – designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Famous for picturesque villages of mellow honey-coloured stone, gentle hills, peaceful pastures and winding rivers. One of the best things to do in the Cotswolds is to simply walk around and enjoy the atmosphere, eager explorers will also be happy to know that the town is filled with hidden courtyards crammed with adorable boutiques, cafés, and independent retailers.
Bourton-on-the-Water is located in the Cotswolds, within the heart of England, famous for its honey-coloured stone architecture and idyllic village scenes. Known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, this one village offers a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants, cafes and tea rooms. Or simply the space for you to enjoy some pleasurable time engrossed by the movement of the sparkling waters of the River Windrush, spanned by its five arched bridges.
Bibury is a charming Cotswold village just a short drive along country roads. William Morris (1834-96) described Bibury as "the most beautiful village in England". Fox News says that Bibury is one of the world's most picturesque villages, and an article on the Huffington Post website (1st May 2014), titled "The Most Charming Towns In Europe You'll Want To Visit ASAP", mentioned Bibury.
Burford has hardly changed since Georgian times, when it was an important coach stop between Oxford and the West Country. Its magnificent High Street, one of the finest in the Cotswolds, slopes down to a bridge crossing the River Windrush. The High Street is overlooked by mellow golden Cotswold stone buildings, including many 17th and 18th century houses. It is an extremely popular tourist destination in the Cotswolds. You will have lunch in Burford

It was supposed to be all inclusive but payment was demanded by the tour guide at Oxford to the point that it was embarrassing. When I mentioned it to the driver he said it was just a tip, pls see the posted pic with the price “suggestions”. Our driver was nice enough I guess, he didnt engage in any conversation and didn’t not talk at all about what we were seeing. Just that we were going to medieval villages in the Cotswold’s. When it came time for lunch he didn’t even have a recommendation for where to eat, he just casually said “some people like the Italian restaurant over there”. We use Viator often and I’ve never had an experience that was this strange and just kind of bad. I wouldn’t recommend
The car and driver were very nice. The Cotswolds were breathtaking, and Oxford was very interesting. For the price, we thought we would get more of a tour with information. We did not realize the tour was through a local person at Oxford and had specific times so we felt very rushed in the Cotswolds to get to the tour on time and then had to pay the tour guide at Oxford as well. We would have preferred a shorter Oxford tour and more time in the Cotswolds. We spent all of our time in Bourton on the Water looking for a quick lunch and toilet. Overall, it was a good day.
