Itinerary
You will be greeted in front of your cruise ship as soon as it docks and escorted to a modern, comfortable, air-conditioned bus. Your professional driver will then transfer you through the picturesque flatlands of former East Germany to Berlin, a journey that takes approximately three hours.
Upon arrival in Berlin, you will meet your professional English-speaking tour guide. You'll first have a chance to stretch your legs as your knowledgeable local guide provides an introduction to the city.
As you drive through the former British Sector, you'll continue along Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s answer to the Champs-Élysées. This iconic boulevard is known for its grand architecture, shops, and historical significance.
Next, you'll see the preserved ruins of a late 19th-century church, a powerful reminder of the destruction caused by U.S. and British bombing raids during WWII. This historic site stands as a striking symbol of both devastation and resilience.
Next, you'll pass Kaufhaus des Westens, the largest department store in continental Europe. With over 100 years of history, this iconic shopping destination is a symbol of Berlin's elegance and commercial heritage.
Next, you’ll be driven through the lush greenery of Berlin's vast central park, passing various embassies along Tiergartenstraße. You'll also see the Berlin Philharmonic and the Memorial for Victims of the National Socialist Euthanasia Program.
Be sure to have your camera ready to capture the sun glinting off the golden angel Victoria, the goddess of victory. As you circle this monumental statue, you'll witness Prussia's bold tribute to its triumphs in the Wars of Unification. It’s a striking symbol of the nation’s power and history.
Upon reaching the German parliament building, which was burned down after Hitler's rise to power and now stands as a bold symbol of modern German democracy, you'll exit the bus. The next portion of the tour will be on foot, allowing you to explore this historic site up close.
As you walk from the Reichstag to the Brandenburg Gate via the Tiergarten, you'll take a moment to pay tribute to those persecuted as Gypsies under Nazism. This brief stop offers a chance to reflect on the tragic history and honor their memory.
Next, you'll walk through the gateways of Berlin's most iconic monument, the Brandenburg Gate. Your guide will explain what makes this landmark the most important cultural monument in Germany. It's a powerful symbol of unity, resilience, and the city's complex history.
After leaving Pariser Platz, you'll take plenty of time to walk through the iconic field of concrete blocks at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. This powerful site invites quiet reflection as you bear witness to the atrocities committed under National Socialism. It stands as one of Berlin’s most moving and important memorials.
Back on the bus, you'll drive past Nikolaiviertel, the oldest district in Berlin, known for its charming medieval architecture and cobbled streets. Located near Rathausstrasse, this historic area offers a glimpse into the city's early beginnings. It’s a striking contrast to the modern developments that surround it.
Next, you'll pass the Berliner Fernsehturm, the second tallest building in Europe, built in 1969 to showcase the power and modernity of the East German state. Standing at over 360 meters, this iconic TV tower remains one of Berlin’s most recognizable landmarks. It offers a striking visual contrast between the city’s socialist past and its vibrant, unified present.
You will then head past the heart of pre-WWII Berlin, where you'll see the Old and New Town Halls as well as the historic Church of St. Mary. These landmarks reflect the city's rich architectural heritage and deep historical roots. It's a glimpse into Berlin's past before the devastation of war.
Next, you'll stop to marvel at the stunning architecture and imperial splendor of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include the Old Museum, the Berlin City Palace, the Berlin Cathedral, and several other historic landmarks. It's a breathtaking showcase of Berlin's cultural and architectural legacy.
Time permitting, you'll head into the heart of one of Berlin’s most striking squares to visit the site of the Nazi book burning that occurred on May 10, 1933. This powerful memorial marks a dark chapter in history, where thousands of books were destroyed in an attempt to silence opposing voices.
Back on the bus, you'll cruise down Berlin’s most important historical boulevard, often referred to as the city’s royal mile. This grand avenue is lined with significant landmarks that reflect Berlin’s imperial past and cultural heritage. It offers a scenic and informative journey through centuries of German history.
Next, you'll bathe in the architectural splendor of Berlin's most beautiful square. Admire the French and German Domes, the Concert House, and take some memorable photos.
Next, you'll have the chance to cross between East and West at the most famous border crossing point over the Berlin Wall, the frontline of the Cold War, where spies roamed and US and Soviet tanks faced off in 1961. Time permitting, you'll take a short break here, allowing you time to snap some photos and buy souvenirs.
At your last stop, you will see the dark heart of Nazi Germany at the former headquarters of the SS and Gestapo, and come face-to-face with the Cold War's most brutal symbol: The Berlin Wall. Time will be taken here for a bathroom break before you board the bus for the last time. Your guide will then accompany you back to Schloss Charlottenburg, marking the end of the Berlin portion of the tour, and you will be driven back to the port.

Wow what a full day! We had the best guide who knew everything about everything and we really enjoyed how he explained everything and answered our questions.
Excellent bus, guide used the 3 hr drive to educate on relevant history, geography and culture. Saw a lot in limited time available.
Berlin is a beautiful historic city not to be missed! Our guide Tobi was excellent! He knew the city well and we had lots of fun. Vexperio made sure we were back to our ship with plenty of time left. Highly recommend this tour!
With only one day in Berlin during a cruise, this tour made excellent use of the time we had. Our guide, Orit, and our driver, Markus, did an excellent job hitting all the highlights on our wishlist of sights and showing us a number of places that we didn’t know we wanted to see. As an added bonus, Markus shared his story of escaping from East Berlin before the wall came down!
Fantastic guide & driver, we saw so much @ 1/2 the price of CARNIVALs tour. From now on I'm booking through you. 👍
Natalie the private tour guide in Berlin was Excellent! Super knowledgeable and interesting. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was I booked a completely private tour and things got messed up and we had to ride a big tour bus to and from cruise ship to Berlin. We also missed going to visit the concentration camp that we believed was part of our original tour booked.
Hello Donald, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience, and we understand your disappointment. However, as we can see from your booking, the tour reserved was the shared option in All-in-One Berlin shore excursion, which includes Berlin city sightseeing only and does not include a visit to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. It also appears your booking was made through Viator call line, and we are extremely sorry if any information passed there was misleading. We will contact Viator to review this and ensure the tour description is accurately presented going forward. We are very glad to hear that Natalie provided an excellent guiding experience, and we truly appreciate your kind words about her knowledge and service. Thank you again for your feedback. The actual tour location’s are fantastic — the process of checking in off the ship is chaotic and inefficient, the 3 hour drive is with a driver only who speaks very little English if any, the driver adds to the inefficiency by requiring a 20 minute break at the restroom stop half way to Berlin although the entire group was off and back on the bus in ten minutes. The first 20 minute stop was skipped entirely (IDK), the rest of the stops were out of order. Using restrooms , even at the stops, was a challenge because you didn’t know if the fee was a service charge or a tip and if it was waived if you bought something. All the other drive buys and stops were as described. 3 out of 5 because of content and how much ground tour covered. The minus 2 is because of inefficiency of time usage and proficiency checking in …. My recommendation to improve the tour, provide a piece of paper with the stops and walk by locations listed. Have the tour guide ride from port describing the most important facts of the major stops and walk past. He could do this from the rest stop into town. This would free up time that could be used to absorb the actual locations instead of standing around listening to a lecture. The final stop was museum island and 45 minutes wasn’t enough time to take pictures and scratchy the surface. I believe with efficient onboaring, onboard explanations of stops during window time from cruise terminal, efficient bathroom stops …. An hour and a half could be utilized at the museum Island and Berlin Cathederal Bradley Gillette June 10th, 2026 off the Carnival Legend
Dear Bradley, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we are sorry to hear that certain aspects of the experience did not meet your expectations, we would like to clarify a few points for future readers. Regarding the embarkation process, our hosts and vehicles arrive at the port approximately 30 minutes before departure, and guests are asked to arrive 15-20 minutes before the scheduled start time. On the date of your tour, you arrived significantly earlier than the published meeting time, before our team had begun the check-in process. While we understand that waiting can be frustrating, the tour departed as scheduled and all guests were checked in and accommodated successfully. As clearly stated in our tour description, the guide joins the group in Berlin rather than at the port, and there is no commentary during the transfer from Warnemünde. The approximately 3-hour journey and scheduled comfort stop are also part of the planned itinerary. Regarding the order of the stops, occasional adjustments may be necessary due to traffic conditions, local events, road closures, or operational considerations. These changes are made to ensure that guests can still experience all major highlights while returning to the ship on time. We also note that public restrooms in Germany frequently charge a small fee, which is determined by the facility operator and is outside of our control. We appreciate your suggestion regarding a printed sightseeing overview and will certainly take it into consideration. We are proud that this tour currently holds a 4.7-star rating based on more than 300 guest reviews, and that many guests specifically highlight the itinerary, organization, and quality of our guides in their feedback. Kind regards. -Vexperio
Loved everything about this tour. The tour guide was great. We were told that we would. Or have a guide on the bus into Berlin (not happy about that). However, the guide was with us for the entire tour and that made it wonderful. Of course we would have loved more time at several of the stops, but that was not possible given the schedule. LOVED IT.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re very happy to hear you loved the tour. We hope to welcome you again in Europe one day!
It is a long day going to and from the port but the trip is well worth the wait. Tobi, our tour guide was very informative and easy to understand. I think everyone enjoyed all the information and places we visited on this tour. Our driver did a great job getting us to Berlin and driving the big bus in and around Berlin.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are very happy you enjoyed the tour and had a great experience with Tobi and the driver. We hope to welcome you again in Europe one day!
Great tour of the best of Berlin! Our guide Tobi was excellent! We left on time and were back to our cruise ship with plenty of time before leaving port.
Thank you for for your kind words. We are very happy you enjoyed the tour and had a great day with Tobi. We hope to welcome you again in Europe one day!
