It was a beautiful day trip with Marwa, she helped me understand the history of Alexandria. She walked me through the catacombs and the Citadel.
It takes a couple hours to drive from Cairo to Alexandria, making it a long day. The catacombs were cool to see and the citadel was interesting. Unfortunately, we were not able to get into the library because it's closed on Saturdays.
The trip was delightful. Our guide Mr. Mahmoud was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was good at explaining the historical context and importance of the archaeological discoveries that made our experience interesting.
