The Valley of the Temples is one of the most outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, and is one of the main attractions of Sicily as well as a national monument of Italy. The area was included in the UNESCO Heritage Site list in 1997. The archaeological park and landscape of the Valley of the Temples is the largest archaeological site in the world with 1,300 hectares, but the term 'valley' is a misnomer, the site being located on a ridge outside the town of Agrigento. Through this tour you will have the chance to admire the magnificent Doric temples of the sacred hill, as the Temple of Hera (Juno), the Temple of Concordia, Temple of Herakles (Hercules), the Temple of Zeus (Jupiter) and Sanctuary of chthonic deities. Follow the steps and the words of your expert guide and you will also understand the culture that led to the construction of those majestic structures and you will get to know the characters that made Akragas 'the most beautiful city of mortals'.

- When you choose the guided tour, please be aware that the admission fee for the Valley of the Temples is €17 for adults, €10 for those between 18 and 25 years of age, while children under 18 years of age receive complimentary entry. The rest of the guided tour fee encompasses various services, including the expertise of a professional licensed and local guide, provision of radio guides (if necessary), customer support, reservation fees, and other related amenities. All of these is included in the guided tour fees.

Our guide Carmelida was great. Very knowledgeable and skilled. There was a small bit of confusion about the meeting point, due to road construction delays, but it was quickly resolved. Carmelida provided excellent information clearly explained and was friendly and helpful. Our only reservation was with the cost. This is no reflection on Carmelida who earned whatever portion came to her, many times over. There seem to be several levels of tour management between the purchaser and the final product, which likely accounts for the high price.
Seeing the Valley all the temples will take you back in time to 500 BC! The temples mark the passage of time and of civilizations who conquered this area, but left behind such magnificent structures, bigger than the Greek Parthenon! Our tour guide was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable, spoke English well, and never rushed us through the sites. We saw the catacombs, he explained to us how the Ancient Greeks transported the heavy boulders up to the highest peak and he came even prepared with a book that showed us what the temples must’ve look like at the height of their splendor. Wow! We highly recommend this tour!

Valley of the Temples was a remarkable and impressive historical sight and going with a guide made it even more interesting. Our guide (sorry, I do not remember her name) was wonderful. The depth of her knowledge gave us a better understanding of the temples: the times back then, the structures, the appearances/sizes and the differences between them. She also, shared her great knowledge on the various plants in the area. Thank you for the beautiful day!

Our guide, Sara Chiummo, was excellent. She is so knowledgeable about the history of this remarkably preserved- for its age- area, that dates back 2000 years. We spent two unhurried hours and it was well worth the cost. Sara also knew all about the plants and trees and once she knew we were interested, she pointed them out. She was happy to answer questions. We chose the 3 PM tour and as the sun set the full moon rose and the light was so beautiful. Then the lights on the temples came on. Che bella!

The guide was great but the address for the meeting point was wrong, there was no info about parking or how to get there, and we could not contact the operator. We had no name of the guide, which we got in all our tours with Viator.

Our tour with Sarah was very informative, and a wonderful way to experience the Valley of the Temples on a shorter time frame. Our tour was two hours, and she provided excellent general context and history, and also interesting details about the park.
