It was a great afternoon the boat service , servers and crew were amazing . Live commentary was informative and entertaining and the tea and food went above expectation.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service from both GetYourGuide and City Cruises London. I paid a significant amount of money for the Afternoon Tea Cruise on the Thames, with a ticket clearly showing a scheduled time of 3:30 p.m. However, what they fail to make sufficiently clear is that boarding begins at 3:15 p.m. and closes at exactly 3:30 p.m. I arrived only five minutes after the time printed on my ticket and was immediately refused entry. I understand that a cruise cannot wait indefinitely, but this was only five minutes—and there was absolutely no compassion, flexibility, or attempt to help. Even more appalling, they refused to provide a refund, credit, or opportunity to reschedule. Their only “solution” was for me to pay the full price again and purchase another expensive ticket. Essentially, they took my money, provided me with absolutely nothing, refused every reasonable solution, and then expected me to hand over even more money. The complete lack of concern shown by both companies was shocking. Once they had received the payment, it felt as though they could not have cared less about the customer or the fact that no service had been provided. If 3:30 p.m. is the absolute cutoff rather than the boarding time, this should be displayed in large, unmistakable language throughout the booking process—not buried in the details while the ticket prominently shows 3:30 p.m. For an experience this expensive, there should also be some reasonable policy for rescheduling or issuing credit when a customer misses boarding by only a few minutes. This experience felt unfair, misleading, and completely unacceptable. I strongly warn others to think twice before booking through either GetYourGuide or City Cruises. If anything goes wrong—even by only five minutes—do not expect understanding, assistance, a refund, or even a credit. You may simply lose the entire amount you paid and be told to purchase another ticket. DO NOT BUY THIS TICKET. The risk of losing your full payment with absolutely nothing in return is not worth it.
We enjoyed our afternoon cruise and tea this week! It was an especially nice thing to do on a very hot day in London. We could relax and be cool and still see all the beautiful buildings and bridges along the Thames. Our tea was very good with a great selection of sandwiches, scones, and sweets...more than enough for us. Our server was efficient and friendly. Location was easy to find and to get on and off. Would recommend especially to adults, adults with mobility issues, and someone wanting to do something on a hot day that doesn't require a lot of walking. Come with an empty stomach!
We definitely enjoyed the cruise. Crew was friendly and provided commentary on the trip. We would definitely recommend this.
A very lovely way to spend and afternoon in London. The afternoontea was very nice but too much. We only had 50%. Seeing the buildings from the river was exceptional plus the tower bridge opening for the 5pm traffic
Skips the MI 6 building. Food delightful. Ask for cream. Go upstairs. Tips are accepted. Macaroons are brilliant!
The cruise itself was very lovely in terms of being a great way to see some of the sites of London. The food was fairly average - the sandwiches had dried out before they were served and the coffee was not hot. The commentators were not official tour guides and I think the descriptions of the landmarks could be improved. We had to line up for quite a long time before we got on the boat.
Loved food and Tea! Excellent staff , very friendly. The main problem was we could not hear the speaker as it was so loud with everyone talking. And the music they played was also loud. I expected soft elevator music but it was quite upbeat. The boat ride was excellent and when we finally went on the up deck we were able to hear the guide speak about the points of interest.
The cruise lasted 1 hour 30 mins, including setting off and coming back in. We couldn't hear the commentary onboard and it was quite hot and noisy inside . The cups and cutlery weren't clean which was quite disappointing . We felt it was a bit overpriced really for the time onboard .
This was a lovely experience. The afternoon tea exceeded expectations. The only slight negative was that you could not hear the commentary clearly
