Good option for tickets and to be able to go through the acropolis at your own pace while still getting some information.
Scam!! The entrance fee is €30 (available on many sites) and the audio guide is free. Here I paid €49/person for a lousy audio guide. Do not take!!!
This was not worth the money - book directly through the Acropolis. The price shown on the tickets was much higher than that on the Acropolis website, and I assume this was marked up because of the audio tour. We thought we had downloaded the correct tour ahead of time, but both my husband and I could not get the tour to work, despite downloading the app and using the code sent while we were on wifi. We then spent valuable time standing inside the Acropolis gate trying to figure it out. We gave up and just walked around and saw that they had QR codes and a free app once inside. We also felt very rushed for the 7pm entry - they started ringing the bells and clearing us before 8pm. So while it was a beautiful time to visit as the sun was setting, it was very rushed. Overall I am very disappointed and would highly recommend just booking a tour though the official website.
The audio guide was excellently narrated, but it was somewhat difficult to follow where we should be at each step on the way. Better pictures would have helped because, unlike many museums and historic sites, there were no identifying signs marking the way. Despite the inconvenience of not always knowing where we should be, I would use Viator self-guiding tours again.
Dear Michael, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the narration of the audio guide and that it enhanced your visit to the Acropolis. At the same time, we appreciate your comments regarding the navigation between points of interest. The Acropolis is a unique archaeological site with very limited modern signage in order to preserve its historic character, and we understand that this can occasionally make it challenging to follow a self-guided route. Thank you as well for your recommendation and for choosing Key Tours. We hope to welcome you again on another memorable experience in Greece. Kind regards, The Key Tours Team
Obviously this is just a way to get tickets once they sell out, so I guess mixed feelings since they clearly just buy them out and then mark them up. But, the markup isn’t that high and it worked very smoothly. I didn’t try the audio tour, there are multiple free ones you can download.
The tour was fantastic!! Dou is a walking encyclopedia!! So knowledgeable and kind. Enjoyed every minute of this tour.
It’s beyond words to explain the feeling of seeing the Acropolis. We learned to make sure you purchase your tickets ahead of time and make sure you are within the hour of your time or you lose your tickets, lucky for us we knew that but many people didn’t. Very step and strenuously hard walk up and wear good shoes can be slippery as you are walking on marble
Bought tickets before leaving uk, definitely helped beat the queue but paid quite a bit more than the entry fee if you queue. The audio guide was good easy to download and follow
We could not get our Acropolis tickets for the time we wanted via the government site (Hellenic Heritage), so these came in very handy. We ended up not using the Plaka guide (possibly advertised that way to account for the markup?), but the tickets were legit to an amazing experience.
The sent tickets you can put in the Wallet were not the right ones. Instead of the barcode, we needed a QR code. The correct tickets were in the email under the instructions for the audio tour. You could really do better. Once inside it was absolutely worth it. Superb experience. Subsequently also been to the museum (booked separately)
