Absolutely unacceptable customer service. We booked our Acropolis tickets through Key Tours and were unable to arrive on time due to a delay caused by the Port of Athens authorities, who did not allow our cruise ship to dock at the scheduled time. The ship had to wait for approximately one hour before receiving permission to enter the port. This affected hundreds of passengers and was completely beyond our control. We arrived as soon as we possibly could, explained the situation and asked for assistance. No flexibility was offered, no alternative solution was considered and no attempt was made to help us despite the exceptional circumstances. After contacting Key Tours, we received nothing more than a generic reply quoting their terms and conditions. They showed no interest whatsoever in assessing the situation or providing any form of customer support. The issue is not only the money we lost. It is the complete lack of empathy and customer care. A company that genuinely values its customers would at least try to help in a case of force majeure instead of hiding behind a standard policy. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Key Tours to anyone. If anything unexpected happens during your trip, do not expect this company to make the slightest effort to assist you.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must have been to have your plans affected by the unexpected delay at the Port of Athens. We fully appreciate that the delay was beyond your control. Unfortunately, entry to the Acropolis is managed through timed-entry tickets issued by the Greek authorities. Once the selected entry window has passed, the tickets become invalid and cannot be reissued, exchanged, or refunded by our company, regardless of the reason for the delay. We understand that this outcome was disappointing, and we regret that we were unable to offer the solution you were hoping for. While we always strive to assist our guests whenever possible, in this case we were bound by the operating rules governing these tickets. We also appreciate your comments regarding our communication. We are sorry that our response came across as impersonal, as this was never our intention. Your feedback is valuable and will be shared with our team as we continuously work to improve the way we communicate with our customers, especially in difficult situations. We sincerely regret that your visit did not go as planned and thank you for sharing your experience. Kind regards, Marianna Papakosta
I would strongly advise everyone against a tour with Key Tours. We booked the Acropolis and Parthenon mythology tour with all entries included. The service was a disaster; we wasted 230 euros. Our ship was on time at 8 AM in the port of Piraeus. The meeting point was at 9 AM in front of the cruise port. The local authorities at the port did not allow the passengers to disembark. We could only leave the cruise ship at 10 AM. The first contact from the organizer with us was at 9:31 AM, by which time the bus had already left. No alternative offer; the tickets were not provided in advance, so we could not use them.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry that you were unable to join the tour. However, we would like to clarify that the delay in your disembarkation was entirely outside the control of Key Tours, as access to leave the cruise ship is determined solely by the local port authorities. For this reason, we always advise our cruise passengers to confirm not only their ship's arrival time but also their expected disembarkation time before booking a shore excursion, as these can differ significantly. Despite the delay, our team remained at the meeting point well beyond the scheduled departure time in an effort to accommodate you. Unfortunately, as this was a shared group tour, it was not possible to delay the departure any further without negatively affecting the experience of all the other guests who had arrived on time and compromising the published itinerary. We sincerely regret that your day was affected by circumstances beyond our control. While we fully understand your frustration, we believe it is important to clarify that Key Tours fulfilled its obligations and made every reasonable effort to accommodate your arrival. Kind regards, The Key Tours Team
I booked with an audio guide in Spanish, and they gave me a sound player and told me to scan the QR codes with my phone that had Spanish audio installed at the Agora.
This was such an amazing experience. Our guide, Magda, was absolutely incredible and very knowledgeable. In my opinion, it is worth the money. The whole tour was about two hours in total and Magda very kindly stayed in the area for a while to talk to us and answer any questions.

This tour was an excellent way to visit the Acropolis. Having an expert guide made a huge difference, as the stories, historical context, and fascinating details brought the ancient monuments to life in a way that would have been impossible on our own. Entering early was a great advantage, allowing us to enjoy the site before it became too crowded. Seeing the Parthenon up close and learning about its history was truly unforgettable. The tour was well organized, easy to follow, and paced perfectly. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer questions throughout the experience. If you're visiting Athens for the first time, I highly recommend this tour. It provides a much deeper appreciation of the Acropolis and is a fantastic introduction to the history of ancient Greece.
He won't let me answer the answer you left me in my comment. So I write another comment to make the situation clear, since as I told you on the phone, I have a lot of free time, and I want to make it clear what kind of company you are. In your reply you allege that the sudden cancellation of the visit was due to an unforeseen operational problem affecting this departure... But the reality that I have in writing and that I leave here captured in a photo, is that you did not want to carry it out for lack of participants. This is something you cannot do and for what civitatis sanctioned you. It is true that you offered me another date, which I did not accept, but not because it did not fit my itinerary, far from it, if not because you did not want to pay or change the tickets that we already had purchased to access the Acropolis at the time and day that the visit that you canceled us was going to take place. For all these reasons I reiterate that you are an unrecommendable company. Since as a tourist, after having everything prepared, at any time you cancel the visits because you consider that you are not making enough money from the departure.
This company is absolutely not recommended. We booked a tour with them in Athens through Civitatis, and they cancelled it 24 hours before it was due to start. Each time they gave us a different reason, none of them valid. Civitatis penalized them for the cancellation, as they confirmed they couldn't do it. We booked in advance to have our trip to Athens well-organized, and we lost our visit to the Acropolis because of their lack of professionalism and reliability. I do not recommend booking with them!
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and for the disruption to your plans in Athens. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen operational issue affecting that specific departure, we were unable to proceed with the tour as scheduled. As soon as this became clear, we contacted you to offer an alternative timeslot so you could still enjoy the experience, however we understand that this option did not fit your itinerary. We fully recognize how important it is for travelers to rely on confirmed bookings, especially when planning visits such as the Acropolis, and we sincerely regret the impact this situation had on your trip. Please rest assured that situations like this are rare, and we continuously work to ensure greater reliability and smoother communication. We appreciate your feedback and hope we may have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future. Kind regards, KeyTours team
