Itinerary

Admission included180 min

The tour begins with pickup from your hotel at 8.00 AM or 2.00 PM. You will be able to meet and greet our friendly English-speaking driver at the hotel lobby and proceed for the tour. The tour starts and proceeds for a 20 minute drive to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. The centre is the biggest Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak, established in 1975 as a sanctuary for the injured and orphaned Orang Utans. These animals are trained or re-trained to survive in their natural habitat. They learn how to forage for natural food and build nests in the trees. However there are few that will never re-learn their skills in the wild due to their long association with and dependence on humans. Take a walk on the trails and try to spot the semi-wild Orang Utans. There are feeding times scheduled every day at the feeding platform. However always bear in mind that that main aim of the Centre is to return these animals back into their habitat. Do not be disappointed if you do not see any roaming the jungles or coming back to feed as this means they are able to forage on their own and do not need human assistance.

Orang utan

Great to see.the orang utan but it is not guaranteed. They are not in captivity so do not always come to the viewing area especially when it rains which is quite often

Nice short trip

Guide was competent and punctual, very personable, good conduct, even orangutans have shown themselves The pre-confirmation with the provider was very tedious, you can do without

No orangutans but superb guide

Great and knowledgeable guide who provided thorough information and was very welcoming and friendly! He was worth 5 stars! I rated 3 stars only because no orangutans appeared from the jungle for the feeding due to there being abundant fruit still available in the forest this time of year.
