Bako National Park

Description
Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, is simply unique. No other city in Malaysia has such a romantic and unlikely history, nor displays its charms with such an easy grace. The residents of Kuching enjoy living here, and take great pride in their fascinating city, which is reflected in their attitude to visitors. Visit Bako and the rainforest and then relax on the beach after the rigours of jungle trekking.

Itinerary
The tour starts in the morning to Bako National Park. It takes about half an hour to the fishing village of Bako to board the boat to the Park headquarters. Bako is the oldest gazette national park in Sarawak. It offers the perfect introduction to Sarawak flora and fauna. The 16 square kilometers of primary forests is home to seven distinct ecosystems; beach vegetation, cliff vegetation, mangrove, peat swamp forests, mixed dipterocarp forest, heath forest and grasslands. Constant erosion over millions of years has turned the Bako coastline into a unique geographical landmark. Cliff faces, sandstone structures, sea stacks and pristine sandy beaches dot the area. Wildlife thriving in the area includes the rather intrusive long tailed macaques which roam all over and their shier cousins, the silver leaf monkeys and the long-nosed, and the unusual potbellied Proboscis Monkeys. Other denizens include flying lemur, mouse deer, bearded pigs, bats, tarsiers, slow loris and palm civet cats.

Great tour guide (Jason) - flexible to meet our needs. Very knowledgeable of the local fauna and flora. Always made safety a priority for us.
We can do the park by ourselves, but I highly recommend a guide like we had who knows the habits and crossing points of animals
I always get excursion with viator. Up to now, I had only few minor problems that were promptly corrected. This time, I sent a message about being charged twice without notification but I got no answer/comment from viator.
Hi. Apologised for this issue. But for us we are only the licensed travel agent whom put our packages on sales thru Viator therefore you need to liaise with them directly for this issue. If they still dont reply nor refund within 7 days, kindly drop me an email at wilson@brightontt.com. I'll try to assist you on this matter. Thank you.
The park was amazing and our guide, Julian, was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. Brighton Travel, however, not so much. I first inquired about the rate for a solo traveler, and was told that I would have to book for two people. I said I would be happy to join a group and they said there was no group going that day. So I paid for two people, even though I was only solo. I was there for work and this was my one day off so I wanted to make the most of it. On the day of the trip, however, I found out that I was with a group. The group was fun, and the people were wonderful, but I think it is unethical to charge for a solo trip when it is actually a group trip. I asked for a partial refund and they refused. I would not use this company again.
Dear Sir, All booking are thru system and in our system we cant accept solo traveller as 1 of our term and condition. Most of our packages are 2 to go and even you booked the minimum of 2 doesn't means that you are on a private tour. For a private tour, there's a 50% surcharge and in our terms and conditions we do mentioned all are our packages are based on sit in coach(shared tour). So even you paid for 2 pax and you are the only traveller it's doesnt means that you are on a private tour. So please take note on the terms and conditions. Apologize for unable to reply your personal whatsapp in time as i'm on tour in the rural are with a very limited line coverage. Hope you will understand clearly on all the terms and conditions. Thank you
Loved the experience. Great for city dwelling folks like us to learn about the rain forest and wild lives. Julian (the tour guide) was very knowledgeable and thoughtful in leading us through this fun and educational journey. However, it is important to come prepared with raincoat or poncho, proper hiking shoes (perhaps waterproof), and adventurous attitude.
Our guide Jason was wonderful, leading us into the park and showing us the wildlife. Three types of monkey, leemur, bearded pigs, plus three snakes, amongst the highlights.
Great guide that took care of everything. Saw plenty of proboscis monkeys. Very professional and highly recommended.
We were able to see all of the main animals, all very close to the visitors centre. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
We had a personal tour with Elvin, and he showed us around the Bako Natiolpark wtihin looking for all the wildlife. He knows a lot and you can ask him anything - he will tell you! Good day Trip, very good organised
We had a great trip to Bako National Park. The trip started with a great boat trip, after which the actual tour began. We had a guide named Jason, because I would recommend to anyone who wants to make this trip. Jason knew a lot and could explain each of our questions accurately and understandably. He felt his enthusiasm for wildlife and the beauty of nature. Fortunately, we were able to spot all kinds of monkeys, as well as snakes and spiders. Jason also led us through the mongroves. A highlight of the day was the sighting of a dragon with a considerable size. The trip was great and Jason had dinner with us and also patiently explained what we should best eat. Our conclusion: Everyone should visit Bako National Park and see the great nature and if you have the opportunity then you have to take Jason as a guide because then it will be your unforgettable experience.
