8 Day Altai Tavan Bogd Private Trekking

My friends and I had the best time on this trek. Malek took us to the most welcoming nomadic family where we stayed in gers, learned about mongolia, and rode horses through the beautiful countryside. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the beautiful country of mongolia.

We spent a total of 8 days in Mongolia covering Ulannbaatar and Olgii. Our activities included a hike to Khoton and Khurgan lakes, a stay in the yuks and a visit to the capped Altai mountains. The last destination before we went back to our hotel was a stay at the eagle hunter’s home where activities included horseback riding and photo taking with an eagle. Overall, the trip was eye-opening, breathtaking for the landscape and scenery and many happy moments interacting with the locals. Bek Travels delivered on the experience, the quality of the food and the friendliness of its staff. But what could be better was having more information on itinerary rather than only a cursory mention. For example, more information should have been mentioned on the travel time and standard of toilet facilities available for each site during the negotiation stage. The toilets could have been more hygienically structured by providing sand to cover up the waste after each use rather than leaving the waste exposed to the next user. Also, the yuks could have been cleaner and had the smell of cow dung and one of the yuks we had was too cold. There could have been better coordination on the last day between the various staff. But special mention and kudos go out to the staff namely Dinmukhamyet (Dinka) – driver, Nurjigit (Nurka) – cook, Aidana (guide). They kept us safe, was very attentive and gave us great food each day.

I’m so glad I chose Bek Travel’s customized 8-day, 7-night tour — it gave me an unforgettable journey to western Mongolia. My teammates — guide Aibo, driver Asan, and cook Bota — were incredibly reliable. They are not only very kind but also highly professional. I enjoyed delicious food every day, and in the evenings, we had a great time drinking and chatting together (though I could never drink more than them). More importantly, their prices were very reasonable. Our tour guides Malik and Sultan were absolutely fantastic. They were genuinely passionate and very knowledeagble on everything about Mongolia, particularly on horse riding! Was a pleasure spending our 4 day trip in the Gers with them. Also very good with the camera and drone footages. Highly recommended!
