Great trip

We had such a great time on the Earthstompers tour with Christine as our guide. She was super friendly, easy-going, and really looked after everyone, which made the whole trip feel relaxed and fun from the start. The day was packed with awesome activities—kayaking, swiming in the waterfall, sandboarding, hiking, a safari experience, and a stop at an ostrich farm and more. Everything flowed really well and never felt rushed, so we could just enjoy each part properly. Christine also added some lovely personal touches, like sharing South African treats, fruit and drinks along the way, which made it feel extra special. The group we were with was great too, which made the vibe even better. Overall, it was just a really fun, easy trip with a fantastic guide. Thank you so much, Christine!

Unforgettable Week Stomping the Garden Route with Christine!

Unforgettable Week Stomping the Garden Route with Christine! 🇿🇦 We just finished our 5/6 day Garden Route tour with Earthstompers Adventures, and it was truly a trip of a lifetime. From start to finish, the entire journey was seamless, beautifully planned, and packed with incredible sights. A massive, special shoutout goes to our amazing guide, Christine! She is big on personality, brings the best energy every single day, and instantly made our group feel like a cozy little family. Her enthusiasm for South Africa is completely contagious. Whether we were exploring the national parks or just chatting on the road, Christine kept things incredibly fun, warm, and memorable. Thank you Christine! ❤

First Time in South Africa

As entitled, our first time in South Africa and it was much more than we expected. Gareth (who really wanted to be known as Chris) was an amazing guide, always willing to that little bit extra. Earthstompers (through Gareth) arranged for a special evening where we were upgraded in our room with an amazing view and a complimetary bottle of Champage in an ice bucket to help celebrate our honeymoon. As if that was not enough, he also arranged for a birthday cake as a surprose for me and I was serenaded to the tune of "Happy Birthday" by all the group. Admittedly by upon hearing the heyenas on the morning game drive the next day, I was reminded where I had heard that noise before :-) Seriously though, the group we had on our trip were amazing. No complainers, no late arrivals for buses in the morning and the days were full of banter. Could not have asked for a better bunch and in Chris (the real one), we even had our own personal bus photographer, so I have plenty of pics to pass off as my own. Finally, Gareth even brought an item to our hotel we left on the bus. Excellent service, a credit to Earthstompers.

Great trip. We packed so...

Great trip. We packed so much in and our guide was fantastic looking after us. The backpacker accomodation was great, was nervous at the start but backpacker was way better than guest house in terms of staying with the main group. It was just like hotel rooms.

Fantastic Six Day Tour

Last March we did this tour with Earthstompers Adventures. This tour was amazing in a word. In a short time you see a lot and in a very comfortable way. Firstly, we had a fantastic tourgide Christine. She was our driver/tour guide and she made our six-day trip extra special. Her enthusiasm and craftsmanship to show us as many beautiful places as possible on this tour and tell us about it was inexhaustible. We moved around in a luxury mini bus with a trailer for all luggage. Our “international” company consisted of 10 participants. A good number to travel with, not too big. We had chosen the guesthouses as accommodation and they were all beautiful and unique. Also the food on this tour was exquisite. Delicious Braais (“BBQs”) a real treat! We can wholeheartedly recommend this tour and especially book directly with this tour operator Earthstompers! Everything was so well organized and especially with Christine as tourgide you don't lack anything. Nothing is too much for her to please you. She was super involved in the group and that also created a very good atmosphere within the group. In short we would like to go again and miss South Africa and our nice and cozy Earthstompers group! Thanks again Christine for this unforgettable trip! Best regards from Tony and Joan (from the Netherlands)

More than the Garden Route

We did the 6 day Garden Route and Addo Elephant Park tour with Earthstompers. This was a fabulous experience seeing a huge variety of sites, more than expected. It was more than a Garden Route tour and gave us a true understanding of the East and West Cape region. Our tour guide, Terri, was terrific. She was accommodating, considerate, knowledgeable and worked hard to ensure all our needs were met which afforded us the most amazing trip. The small group size was ideal for sightseeing and enabled quick getaways. The food on tour was excellent and gave us a great range of South African classics., Terri knew all the quirky cafes to make a refreshment stop. The variety of accommodation was all good, some places B & B and other places a backpacker or lodge style, the quality was more than OK. Addo Elephant Park was a highlight with us seeing the elusive Lion as well as copious amounts of other African wildlife!! There is a load of travel, in fact about 2000 km in 6 days which is quite significant, so expect to spend a lot of time in the vehicle, however, what you see in such a small-time frame is more than worth it. Personally, I think the tour would benefit with an extra night or two just to spread the KM's a little and give you some time to smell the roses in one of the fabulous towns you visit. Earthstompers are great and they do care about you and the environment.

Operator response

Good afternoon, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review. We’re really happy to hear that your experience felt like more than just a Garden Route tour, and that you got a broader understanding of both the Eastern and Western Cape, exactly what we aim for on this journey. We're happy to hear how much you enjoyed traveling with Terri. She truly cares about her guests and puts a lot of effort into making each trip special, from the guiding and storytelling to finding those great local spots along the way. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to her, she’ll really appreciate it. We’re also glad you enjoyed the variety of accommodation, the food, and those classic South African flavours along the route. And what a highlight spotting lion in Addo, those are always special moments, especially along with the abundance of other wildlife. You’re absolutely right about the distance covered. The 6-day tour is designed to show a lot in a relatively short time, and while it’s a fast-paced trip, it allows guests to experience a huge variety of landscapes and highlights. We always have to balance the overall guest experience and feedback, as well as time and budget, many travellers simply don’t have the option to extend their trip. That said, we fully agree that an extra night or two would be ideal to slow things down a bit and spend more time in some of the beautiful towns along the way. We wish we could do it for everyone. For those who do have more time and budget, we often recommend extending their journey with a safari add-on, or opting for a private, tailor-made tour where we can adjust the pace and build in those extra nights to create a more relaxed experience. Thank you again for your kind words, for recognizing the care our team puts into each tour, and for supporting our small family business. Warm greetings from Cape Town, Hendrik Owner

Magical Epic Trip

The Garden route & Addo Elephant park is a breathtaking trip that delivers on all levels! The scenic drive offers a constant changing landscape, dramatic mountains, golden beaches, along with an incredible variety of wildlife!! South Africa is a magical destination that never stops surprising you, with each day bringing something new and memorable. The food throughout the trip was delicious and the accommodation exceeded all expectations. Gareth, our guide, elevated the entire experience—his confident driving and deep knowledge of the route added so much to the experience. If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable adventure, I couldn’t recommend this trip more!

Exceeding my expectations

I had a blast and don't mind to go back. I didn't have enough of the Western Cape. Thank you greatly for a surprise 50th dinner party. The team was amazing. I was the dj for South African greatest hits and we danced the night away.
