5 Hours Private and Guided Tour to Pompeii and Herculaneum with Archaeologist
Description
You will have the guarantee of always having me as Archaeologist and Authorized Tourist Guide. There will be no other people on the tour besides you. The experience will last 5 hours, they will be divided as follows: FIRST PART: POMPEII: 2 hours tour of Pompeii. You will have the opportunity to visit and see the beauties of Pompeii, without having the feeling of having to return to visit other points of interest. You will skip the long lines at the entrance, already having the skip-the-line at hand. The priority entrance will make your visit less stressful and you will have the opportunity to quickly buy the entrance ticket and go back in time to 79 AD. SECOND PART: 1 hour of free time. At the end of the tour, you will be taken to the train station or to your car and you will be given the necessary information to get to the Herculaneum site. You will not have the feeling of being alone, you will always be assisted. PART THREE: 2 hours tour of Herculaneum.

At the end of the visit to Pompeii, you will have time to reach the archaeological site of Herculaneum by train. You will be accompanied to the train and helped in purchasing the ticket in order to get to Herculaneum. Entrance tickets are not included but thanks to the skip-the-line ticket it will be quick to buy them on site. Visit to the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum.

We highly recommend her tour. Eliana is a PhD archaeologist who specializes in ancient Roman history and works on-site in Pompeii, so she gave us a wonderful view of all the work that is being done and its historical context—they have projects planned out for decades! Note that we were a tough crowd, a family group comprised of hard-core ancient history nerds + a kid with special needs who was as interested in petting the many cats of Pompeii & Herculaneum as in checking out the history! Eliana handled us all with poise & aplomb, pivoting from the minutiae most of us were interested in, to other, more kid-friendly, topics as they came up. Pompeii + Herculaneum is a LOT to take in in one day, particularly in the blazing summer heat, but the climate is dry, so a hat and umbrella make it work and it is worth the effort, with Herculaneum a much smaller site and very different setting from Pompeii. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time with Eliana. She's very knowledgeable about Pompeii and Herculaneum, and also kind and fun. In addition to leading private tours for four of us, she helped us arrange a private driver for the day, and the same driver to our Airbnb in Positano from Naples, and then back again. She also gave us a tour of the Naples archeological museum, taking us around to the most interesting exhibits for two hours. And then she recommended her favorite restaurant for pasta right near the museum (Bechamel). We learned so much more about the history of the people and the area than we would have on our own.

We went on tours with Eliana for both Pompei and Herculaneum and could not recommend her more. She is an absolute delight to have as a guide. She is deeply knowledgeable, friendly and dynamic. She works on one of the biggest excavations in Pompeii and has an absolute passion for her job and explaining the context of the sites to visitors.
