5 Days Getaway adventure to Masai Mara,L.Nakuru and L.Naivasha

Our first safari and visit to Kenya/Africa was an amazing and unforgettable experience. We contacted several safari companies and chose Savannah Woods Safari because we felt we could rely on Lucy, who very kindly responded to all of our questions and requests with great care and professionalism. Lucy and Josphat gave us safari souvenirs the day before our trip began, which already made the trip special. Henry, our safari guide, made the experience truly exceptional. He constantly communicated with other guides and helped us find the animals we most wanted to see. Thanks to him, we were able to witness incredible wildlife, including lions—a family feeding on a buffalo and a mating couple—leopards emerging from the bush and walking toward us, as well as cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, and beautiful sunrise and sunset. The bush lunch under Henry’s favorite tree was one of the highlights of our trip! We had a 5-day safari, starting from Maasai Mara and continuing to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. Lucy arranged everything and it became our lifetime experience! Went on this safari trip planned by Savannah Woods Safari and it was amazing! It was extremely well planned from the beginning till the end. Lucy had been our point of contact and she understood what we were looking for and gave all the options for us to choose from accordingly. Our guide was Mr Henry who was very knowledgeable and answered all our million questions patiently. He was so adjusting to all our requests, especially when I asked for stopping for shopping on the highway. Most importantly, he helped us see the big 5 and many other incredible animals and birds. I highly recommend him!

Our safari adventure began when we contacted Savannah Woods Safari and from the very first message we knew we were in good hands. Lucy was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. She was incredibly responsive, patient, and helpful, answering all our questions and making sure every detail was taken care of. What impressed us most was that her support didn't stop once the trip started! She continued checking in and helping whenever needed, which gave us great peace of mind. We chose a 6 days safari trip, covering Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. A huge part of that experience was thanks to our guide, Papa John. He is truly exceptional. His knowledge of the parks, wildlife and animal behaviour was remarkable, and his ability to spot animals was nothing short of incredible. Thanks to his expertise, we managed to see all of the Big Five, including a leopard, which many visitors never get to see. He always seemed to know exactly where to be and when, giving us amazing wildlife sightings and fantastic photo opportunities. Beyond that, he was friendly, professional, passionate about his work, and made every game drive enjoyable and exciting. The Sopa Lodges were also excellent. The accommodations were comfortable, the food was delicious and varied, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable. We would highly recommend this itinerary, Savannah Woods Safari and especially Papa John as a guide. If you're lucky enough to have him leading your safari, make sure you clear plenty of space on your phone or camera, you'll come home with hundreds of incredible photos and unforgettable memories! Step 1 Naivasha Lake (Sopa Resort) Quiet enough, ideal to recover from the trip, often with stopover, walk and canoe, mainly herbivorous animals met in the hotel itself...2 nights is enough Step 2 Masai Mara (Sarova Camp) Excellent tripe with lots of nice encounter including 1 Black Rhino, Cheetah, several scenes with lions.. Step 3 Watamu (Hermingway hotel) Right in front of an aquatic nature reserve we saw lion fish, globe fish, baby sharks... Special mention to the quality of service and the quality of food in the 3 establishments and to the organization and punctuality of the Savannah Woods agency

Savannah Woods gave us a spectacular experience of our lifetime. Lucy was very professional and gave us the best itinerary that fits our dates and budget. She was in touch with us throughout the journey and made sure we get the best. A special mention to our tour guide Jackson with his incredible sense of humor and knowledge who made us feel comfortable and safe.

We had an incredible safari experience in Kenya thanks to our guide, Alfred. He is extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and worked tirelessly to make sure we saw as many animals as possible. Beyond the game drives, Alfred also introduced us to Maasai culture, which added so much depth to our trip. His professionalism and dedication made the entire experience smooth, informative, and memorable. Highly recommended!

I had good experience overall. Place was amazing. Savannah woods team was very cooperative and welcoming. They were on time to pick up and drop. Their hospitality was great. Lucy was always available to help us on anything we needed. Totally recommend them. Only negative was our shared vehicle was fully occupied on first two days which was a bit uncomfortable for everyone. Other than that everything was perfect.

This was really, really, an awesome life experience! From the beginning to the ending, everything was perfectly managed.. you're professionals, and extremely kind staff. I had a great experience with Savana Woods! Lucy always answers to you, and she's so diligent and organized! They customized my trip with all my needs even when things changed for me during the days. The information was so clear, the prices were fare, the hotels they booked, according to my budget, were perfect! I was traveling alone, but I felt safe and calm the whole time with them. The hot air balloon safari was amazing! It's a little expensive what whort it a lot!! The service, the drivers, the cars, the hotels, everything was perfect!! I absolutely recommend them! I did the 4 day safari and spent 2 nights in Masai Mara and one night at Lake Nakuru. Also I took the Masai Village tour, the boat tour, the hot air balloon and everything was so whorted. I wish I knew before about the walking o horse safari at Lake Naivasha because I would love to do that. You can get so close to the animals with that safari, so if you have that opportunity, take it!! I also booked a city tour with Justin that was so nice!! Visiting the Elephant Orphanage, the giraffe Centre, a museum, stopping at very nice restaurants for lunch and dinner.

Booking process: The booking process was easy and very smooth. Communication and organisation was always clear and responses were always fast. A clear itinerary for the trip was provided sp you knew exactly what you are getting. In respect of budget, we felt the experience exceeded our expectations. We spent five nights / six days travelling around Amborselli, Lake Nakuru and of course the Masi Mara. Guide/driver: We will come on to accommodation soon, but first our tour guide, Alvin. He was excellent from start to finish clearly focussed on providing an excellent experience, of which he is the heart. The trip was always catered to our needs and he was engaging, polite and had a good sense of humour. His knowledge of the lands, birds and animals was encyclopedic and his respect for the reserves was always demonstrated. He is clearly passionate about what he does and that come through. We saw an incredible amount in our days here and Alvin always seemed to find the best spots - often up close with some of the iconic animals of Africa. He also comes equipped with a mini van, containing seven passenger seats, of which four are fully reclining - perfect for the odd nap on those longer journeys between parks. Alvin also shared his curated selection of modern Kenyan music with us, which was very enjoyable. Amboselli Sopa Lodge: The first hotel in Amoboselli was the Sopa lodge - set in manicured grounds housing monkeys and mongooses, set against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro - was fantastic. Also, don't miss a tour of Hemmingway's house delivered by Pappa Emma (its also a bar overlooking the vista). Note, this hotel is about a 30min drive from Amboselli park gates. Lake Nakuru Lodge: The second hotel was at Lake Nakuru with a name that passed the ronseal test - Lake Nakuru Lodge. This time the hotel is set within the reserve. It was comfortable, attentive service and perfect for a brief over night stop. Jambo Mara Safari Lodge (Maasai Mara): The last hotel we stayed in was Jambo Mara Safari Lodge, which was about 10 minutes from the masi mara reserve gates. This was a hotel with two different stories - it was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in (think a glass cube overlooking the Masi Mara, but with total privacy). However, the communal areas were a little worn and tired and the dining hall had a slightly odd atmosphere. Having said that, for a well located safari base, with an excellent room and view, it was a great experience. Other: Also, there is a trip to a Masi Village (not to be missed) and Alivin was happy to stop by some of the intersting 'curio' shops along the way.
