We usually allow around 15 minutes here so you can take photos and soak in the grandeur of this landmark. Outside the palace stands the Victoria Memorial, an impressive monument to Queen Victoria, surrounded by ornate gates and gardens that make this one of the most photographed spots in London. Depending on the timing of your tour, you may also see the Changing of the Guard — a colourful display of military precision and tradition that draws visitors from across the globe. Many of our tours include a visit to St. James’s Palace, a working royal residence and one of the oldest in London, dating back to the 1500s. We usually stop for around 15 minutes so you can take photos and enjoy the atmosphere of this historic setting. Just nearby, in St. James’s Park, you may also see the pink pelicans — first gifted to King Charles II in the 17th century by the Russian ambassador, and still a much-loved feature of the park today. As we make our way through central London, we’ll drive past Trafalgar Square — one of the city’s most vibrant public spaces. Dominated by Nelson’s Column and guarded by four famous bronze lions, the square is a gathering place for celebrations, events, and London life.
