The most exciting drive and tour. Our tour guide knew horses by name and family. He loved his community.
Great experience! Definitely bring bug spray. One truck took half the family and had no issues, and another truck took the other half and they were eaten alive at one of the spots. Grabbed a beer at the brewery afterwards which was so convenient.
Knowledgeable guide who really loves what she does.
We saw tons of horses on the beach, in the neighborhoods, and on the preserve. You face sideways in the back of a truck, so the plus is that everyone has a good view. The downside is you do a lot of turning and stretching to see behind you. It’s a fun trip, I’m glad we did it, though it ended up being a bit long for our boys. It probably depends on how long it takes to find horses, but since we saw so many, I think an hour and a half would have been plenty of time, and we were out for almost 2.5 hours. Our guide was very nice and knew a lot about the horses.
Amazing tour of the Outer Banks beach community. Saw wild horses in people’s yards, walking the roads, and in fields. Craig was our tour guide-lots of knowledge of the history of the area and the harems of wild horses, sharing their common names and which foals within the groups were recently born. Definitely recommend this company for your wild horse tour!
Great trip! Knowledgeable guide!
Really well run tour. We saw 20 plus horses on our tour and our guide was very knowledgeable about the local area and wild life.
Loved our guide, Craig.. Very knowledgeable about the care of the horses, wildlife, sea turtles etc for the area and provided a lot of historical facts and personal experiences in the area and its conservation. The 4x4 beach ride was an absolute treat-especially not having to navigate the sand but enjoy the ride. Spotted plenty of horses around the Corolla/Carova area, both around the residences and private areas (that other outfitters do not have access to). Would absolutely do this again next year!
Make sure the weather is fine. It's a bumpy ride but absolutely gorgeous no matter what. Enjoy with your family or friends. The beaches are excellent,& the homes are unbelievable. And best of all of course the horses . Highly recommend the experience. Love it.
The ride is very bumpy going through the sand dunes area. May not be good for people with bad backs or mobility issues. Not the fault of the vendor - just the reality of the location.
