Lack of communication

The trip was a nice trip. The ferry went smoothly and the pick up in Santorini went smoothly. Mykonos was nice and the food was great in both places.. I gave a poor rating because of the pick up and drop off communication and the hotel that was booked in Santorini. The staff at the hotel were nice but the hotel was extremely loud. Every door that opened and closed echoed and anyone walking the halls could be heard. As for the pick up and drop off in Athens we had to walk to a pick up point because the company was concerned about the narrow street. Walking was not an issue but it was 5:30 am so a little concerning. Upon arrival back to Athens there was no driver waiting. I tried to call and no one answered. I texted and no one responded. It was raining, lightening, and thundering. A cab driver came to help and also tried to call the company and no one answered so we had to pay to take the cab back to our room. I did get a call back but we were already in the cab on our way.

Operator response

Dear Stacy, thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review for your trip. First of all, we appreciate your feedback regarding the hotel and we will take it seriously into account for future reservations. Regarding the pick-up in Athens, you are fully aware that your hotel was in Plaka, the neighborhood with the narrow streets where cars circulation is difficult. However, we asked you if you are willing to walk 350 meters for the pick-up and you accepted without expressing any complaints about it. So, we would have appreciated it if you had let us know on time about your concern so that we had the chance to offer you an alternative. On the contrary, posting it here, after the end of the trip, doesn’t indicate lack of communication on our end, because we did communicate it to you and your answer was clear (in written). Regarding the return to Athens, you called us via WhatsApp and we returned the call in 3 minutes (something that you can confirm in your WhatsApp history). The driver was waiting for you at the port, but, because of the rain, you may have missed him. This is understandable, because when the ferry arrived, there were a lot of people disembarking at the same time and the bad weather made it hard finding each other. The fact that you were in the taxi within 3 minutes from the call to us, demonstrates that you didn't look at all for the driver, but you took for granted that nobody was waiting for you there. However, if you had gone at the shelter, just 50 minutes opposite the ferry, so that you avoid the rain, waiting for a couple of minutes, the driver would have been able to locate you. Given that the whole trip was smooth, and all the services had been offered as promised, it is strange that you thought that we would leave you there without a driver. The fact that the driver was at the port waiting for you can be proved both by our company's gps as well as by the payment invoice, because we paid the driver too, to be there waiting for you. It is important for us and for future travelers to have a clear view of the trip and we are sure that you would also rather read reviews that reflect the truth when you are about to book a trip. Writing that there was nobody at the port waiting for you is totally untrue and we want to make it clear that we are professionals, and we would never do that to people who trust us. Feedback is always welcome, and it helps us become better, as long as it is well-intentioned and reflects reality.

Great experience. My 4th time using Viator!

Yanna was extremely helpful and gave us good instructions and suggestions. Everything was well planned and organized. She was constantly in touch via WhatsApp. The hotel in Santorini was very good and comfortable. One suggestion: it would help if hotel information and itinerary is provided about a week ahead instead of a day before.

Thank you :)

Disappointed - not worth the price in my opinion

Do not be misled by the title of this experience - it is NOT a tour. What it provides you is * transfer from ferry to Airbnb (NOT hotel) in Santorini - be prepared to walk to get anywhere interesting as that is far from everything or to pay crazy amounts for a taxi * a place to stay in Santorini - I stayed at White Elements and the only positive thing I can say is it was clean and they answered my call when I rang them up to find out what should have been proactively shared with me. There is no reception (how check-in works, what my room was, wi-fi, details about the complimentary breakfast that only got served from the time I was meant to be picked up - even though it was clearly food that they got the day before apparently it couldn’t be made available earlier). The bed was ridiculously hard, I initially thought I sat on my iPad when I sat on it and when it was clear it wasn’t the iPad I stripped the bed to see if they’d put cardboard under the sheets. Turned out it was just a crappy mattress. The lady that worked there should not be in the service industry - very rude. * a transfer to the ferry in Mykonos and a ride back from Mykonos port/airport to Athens. There is NO tour - you are left to fend for yourself from when you. Admittedly it says tours are not included and I missed that on the basis the experience said TOUR. In my opinion this was a very expensive photostop. The ferry to Mykonos left at 10h45 instead of 09h40 and arrived at 13h30. Originally that would have meant just under 1.5hrs of exploring Mykonos but because of all the issues that I experienced Yanna offered to fly me back to Athens which meant I’d have more time on the island. So if you still decide to do the “tour”, don’t be like me and expect a lot because of the price, you will be bitterly disappointed. Be prepared to carry your luggage with you around town (unless you put it in storage, most of which are in town and not at the port). I got lucky and saw a lady holding a poster for “Bag Bank) - which is mobile storage for €10/bag. She keeps your luggage for you for the day and will deliver it to you wherever you ask her to on the island at the time you tell her to. I did something I wouldn’t normally do a trusted that her business was legit because the alternative was not going to work for me. Fortunately for me she was legit and she delivered my suitcase to the airport after I’d taken a bus to get there. The only reason I’m even giving 2 stars to this tour is to acknowledge Yanna’s efforts to salvage all the things that made this trip a disappointment to me and because I at least got some good pictures 😊.

It was okay.

The tour of of Santorini was beautiful our guide did an excellent job of showing us around the city. We were not prepared to pay in Euros for the tour which was extra. Our guide did not explain that important information before we got started. The hotel was okay but not great. I think if they at least had a phone, some soap and a few others things available would have made a difference. I was told to take a picture of a flyer that had the phone number and name of hotel.

A tour of excellent experience

The stay in Santorini. Mykonos was too short time span to enjoy. A night in Mykonos would have been ultimate experience

AWESOME EXPERIENCE AND AGENCY!

Absolutely amazing!! I am a college student, and I was traveling with my sister for the first time to Greece. This agency made us feel so safe and had everything planned for us. the transfer to/from hotel to the ports and hotel in Santorini. And the transfer to/from Oia to see the famous sunset! We didn’t have to worry about anything. Also, Ioanna was amazing!!! Not only she answered to my emails super fast when making the reservation, but throughout the trip she checked in on us to see how everything was going. She was awesome!!!! Thank youu so much Ioanna!!! We were only traveling 3 days to athens, so if it weren’t for them, I never would’ve gone to Santorini. Absolutely the best! Definitely recommend!!!
