- About Tonle Sap Tour: The end of March to the end of July is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.

We used a Japanese guided tour company for a half-day excursion of Angkor ruins on May 1st and a sunset course on May 2nd at Angkor Wat Asahi Angkor Thom Benmeria. Mr. Chiuit guided us both days. I was very happy with the guided tour, not to mention the guide, who was good at Japanese, but also how to get in the toilet break, how to find unique spots, and even how to take pictures. I recommend it.

We had a private tour and Ms. Phanne was amazing. She had so much knowledge about all the temples. As it was a private tour Ms. Phanne adjusted the schedule based on our interests and energy levels. Temperatures were ridiculous but our driver had ice cold flannels and water ready for us each time we got back to the van.

We LOVED our 2 day tour of the Angkor temples and can’t recommend this tour highly enough. This area offer so much and a good guide is key. Our guide Seila was perfect - knowledgeable and interesting without being pushy, he explained everything well and adjusted our itinerary to fit our pace and avoid crowds, and kept us comfortable at all times with cold water and towels, and answered all of our questions. There were a lot of questions! He even made suggestions about different temples to visit based on our specific interests. And he took care of photos so our pics aren’t all selfies. Do this tour and ask for Seila!

This is one of the best tours we have ever done and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We had a great 2 day private tour! Mrs Phanne was knowledgeable, personable and willing to customize our 2 days to meet our available time. She knew the best place to wait for sunrise over Angkor Wat and which were the ‘must see’ temples when we had to shorten our second day. Our driver, Mr Ta, was always waiting with cold water and cold scented cloths - very refreshing. I definitely recommend this tour!

I signed up for the tour because of all it offered as well as the diversity… This was a jammed pack itinerary but my guide, Chy, made it a seamlessly relaxing adventure. He gave enough background details and pointed out the highlights and then let me enjoy my own experience. He also read me well…knew when I was tired or when I wanted to know and see more. Very intuitive! He also is a great photographer and captured images that I can cherish forever… Ouk, the driver, would meet me with cold towels (scented with lemongrass) and cold water. The car was immaculate and always clean and comfortable. There was even a power battery for my iPhone. I highly recommend this tour and would definitely ask for this team. It’ll be an experience of a lifetime!

My tour guide, Phanne was incredible! She took me to so many temples in the Angkor area: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm Temple (the one with the tree roots encasing several of the structures), and we went a bit north to see Banteay Srei. As well as going to the Kampong Phluk floating village area. It was a solidly packed two days! We visited probably 5 different temples (Wats) each day. The first day, we went to see the sunset at the Phnom Bakheng Temple - which was marvelous! And the second day, we got up early and went to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat - which was INCREDIBLE! Never seen anything like that before! The changing colors of the sky as they illuminated the magnificent grandeur of the towers of Angkor Wat, silhouetted in the foreground. Phanne knew just where to go and she was always timing our visits to get around the crowded times at places (except for the sunrise/sunset times because "everyone" has to be in those locations at a specific time - so, that is to be expected). Since this was a small group tour, it was easy to talk with Phanne and I feel like I got to know about the Temples, the religion, the history and the people of Cambodia much better than had I been in a larger tour group. I think that's what made this particular tour incredibly worth the price! I could see larger tour groups just moving through. Phanne would stop and take time for us to rest and chat about life in Cambodia in the past and current. And about the stories that make up many of the carvings and symbols we were seeing on the temples. I also have to give a shout out to our driver, Mr. Sobon who was always there to pick us up in his air conditioned Lexus SUV and had cold waters on hand at all times! When we were done at a particular location, she'd call him on the phone and he'd be there! Magical! Following the two day tour with Phanne, I had one additional day in Siem Reap and I went to the Angkor National Museum. I am SO GLAD I did this, and did this AFTER our tour together. At the museum, I was able to see and read more about what Phanne had told me on the tour and it really helped to put it all in perspective. To be able to see which Kings built which temples, and the many stories from Hindu and Buddhist teachings. I feel like that helped me to connect some of the dots since the tour days are long and there's a lot of information and sites to digest. I highly recommend this tour! My travels on this trip took me to Thailand and Cambodia, and I took about 8 different Viator tours (food tasting, speedboats out to the Phi Phi Islands, mountain tours...) and by far, this tour was the most memorable! The others were good, no doubt. But, this experience is one that I will remember for a long time, and will continue to do some more reading about the history of Cambodia and the temples as a result.

We had a great time and a wonderful tour. It was very informative. Our Guide, Mr. Mony, knows a lot about Cambodian history and the sights we visited and he presented it on a very entertaining way. The combination of sights and the sequence was very well selected. We had a wonderful place to see the Angkor Wat sunrise. We really got a lot out of it. He was very flexible and managed to involve our sometimes a little difficult teenage children. There’s nothing to complain about! The driver, Mr Sophal, was a perfect match. He did everything to make it a comfortable trip. He always positioned the car in a very convenient way and welcomed us with cold water and wonderful cold lemon facecloths and - not to forget - a very warm smile! Thank you for this experience!
