12 Days all Egypt GEM pyramid cruise Hurghada

We decided last year that we needed a real break from work and life so we booked this 12 day trip through Egypt and I still can’t believe how smooth everything went. The GEM museum was honestly way bigger than we expected and we spent almost four hours there just walking through the halls. The entry fee was totally worth it because you get to see so many artifacts that you never see anywhere else. The atmosphere inside is very calm and respectful almost like you are walking through a sacred place. The crowds were not bad at all because our guide timed the visit perfectly to avoid the rush. Staff at the museum were polite and helpful even when we asked a million questions. I think this part of the tour is best for solo travelers or couples who enjoy real history without distractions. One moment that stuck with me was when we stopped near a quiet corner and our guide pointed out small carvings on a statue that most people walk past without noticing. It made me feel like I was seeing something special not just another artifact in a glass case.

The last day came too fast. As we said goodbye to the crew and our guide, it felt like leaving family. I didn’t expect to get emotional, but I did. This wasn’t just sightseeing—it was connection. We left lighter, happier, and already planning the next trip. What a ride. Thank you for everything.

One of the lighter, more fun moments of the “12 Days all Egypt Cairo pyramid cruise Hurghada” tour was riding camels near the pyramids. I was traveling solo and got paired with a small group. We laughed the entire ride as the camels did their own thing. My guide Mohamed made it better with his sense of humor and tips for balancing better. The camel handler, a young guy named Sami, shared how he learned to care for them from his grandfather. It was funny, wobbly, and unforgettable.

My recent trip to Egypt was nothing short of magical. Egypt’s rich culture and incredible history have left a lasting impression, and the warmth and hospitality of the people made it even more special. Trip was amazing!! The tour guides were friendly and informed us about every temple and statue.Transport was clean and private and the drivers were good. Glad we good communicate well. Hotels and cruise was out of this world !!!

This experience was phenomenal! It met all our needs and desires! The tour guides were knowledgeable, pleasant and very accommodating! We saw all the sights of Egypt! We recommend this tour to anyone that wants to be pampered and taken care of! The drivers were also wonderful too!

Throughout this entire tour there was a distinct and frustrating lack of communication, with us not knowing what we were doing or who we would be with on almost a daily basis. Because of this we found ourselves paying to fill days of ‘free time’ which we believed to be included from the advertisement. In Cairo/ Giza we were very fortunate to have a wonderful tour guide called Laila who was passionate, informative and who went the extra mile to give us the best experience possible. I cannot reccomend her enough and she truly made the experience for us! However, the hotel we stayed in fell very short of the 4 star rating. We had no hot water for the first day despite multiple people coming to the room and assuring us they had fixed it while we were out, only for us to find no difference. Eventually they agreed to change us rooms however we then had to change again when the bathroom door of our new room was also broken and refused to open. We finally had a new room with functioning doors and hot water but no pyramid view (ultimately unimportant) however again not what was advertised or paid for. The staffs attitude ranged from uncaring to arrogance and even borderline bullying behaviour to all guests not just ourselves and while this was not everyone, courtesy was by far the exception than the rule. On our Nile Cruise, the reason for booking this trip, our experience was of bitter diappointment. While the ship itself was clean, kindly staffed and very accomodating . The entire experience was overshadowed by a guide whose only care was making some extra cash and doing the bare minimum. At every one of the magnificent temples we visited we were rushed around with no explanations and very little time to appreciate or explore where we were. Any information that was given was vague and very often simply wrong, while any questions were dismissed or answered in direct contradiction to prior knowledge and what other guides were saying around ourselves. Our days consisted of crammed mornings visiting up to 4 sites before lunch and empty afternoon, which could be filled for a fee of course! One thing our guide did not mind rushing was the constant sales pitches and trips to ‘experiences’ that were nothing more than scams to get you to pay more money. All the while we were repeatedly reminded that ‘the guides tips are not included’ and when that time came rather than approaching it courteously instead it was a knock at the door one evening and an outstretched hand ‘you have something for me!’ On our way return trip we had a night in Luxor at a 5 star hotel, while looking very enticing on paper the reality was an expensive and pointless add on as we arrived late in the evening, left early in the morning on the next leg of our journey and felt the whole experience was wasted and just an excuse to up the overall price. And for the cherry on top of an Egyptian experience, a resort full of screaming children, booming music and low quality very non Egyptian food. If you wish to experience the sites and history of Egypt this tour is not for you.

Overall, we had a decent experience. However, it should be noted that a great deal of credit goes to the guides and drivers who enhanced our travel experience, including the organizers. To the guides Ismail and Ahmed, thank you for your punctuality, your organizational skills and for passing on your passion for Egyptian heritage and your wealth of knowledge. It was efficient and optimal. Special thanks to Ahmed for taking care of our patients and for his humor. Keep smiling (5/5) as you embody the spirits of the pharaohs. Your explanations were clear. Good luck with your phd if that's the case. For the drivers: Many thanks for your punctuality. Also, a special thanks to Mohammed for always keeping up his great energy. For the hotel: 3/5. Rooms not clean, lacked water. Stagnant water. Food: 4/5. For the cruise: 3/5. Lacked entertainment, despite the shows. The food was good and varied: 4/5 Rooms: 4/5 One aspect that could be improved is knowing in advance about optional excursions. It was a bit last-minute and we had little information and little time to decide whether or not to do them. Especially as these were considerable additional costs.
