Visit the Dora Observatory for a close-up view of North Korean villages and the city of Kaesong. The location, near the border and equipped with high-performance binoculars, makes it a popular stop on DMZ tours. On clear days, you can even see Kim Il Sung's statue, offering a firsthand sense of the ongoing division between North and South Korea. The Dora Observatory is an ideal place to experience the reality of the divided Korean Peninsula.
Visit the Unification Village and explore the local specialties. The region is renowned for its beans, and you can discover unique desserts and snacks made from these local specialties. Importantly, there is no pressure or obligation for any sales, so feel free to browse at your leisure.

Experience the iconic 'Chulleong Bridge' on Gamaksan (Mountain Gamak) through a light hiking adventure. It started off a little rocky as the operator was apparently not aware of the agreed to pick up time or exact schedule. Once that was sorted out the night prior, the tour itself went off without a hitch. Excellent day and very attentive guide/driver. This is a once off itinerary however as pretty taxing and especially so the tunnel visit which in itself is debatable as to its value. That's said the rest was excellent.
Andy was a fantastic guide for our DMZ tour today. He provided excellent explanations at every location and was extremely knowledgeable about the history and significance of the sites we visited. The tour was very informative, well organized, and thoughtfully planned. Andy went above and beyond by bringing us breakfast in the morning and providing water throughout the day. The tour also included convenient hotel pickup and drop-off, and he even stopped at a store on the way back so we could pick up a few things before returning to our hotel. We visited several interesting locations, and the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour and especially Andy as a guide.
Wonderful tour with excellent nice guide Andy. Andy is very knowledgeable, speaks English well, and drove us safely and efficiently to/from our hotel in his super comfortable clean van. Visiting the DMZ is a Must Do experience with Andy. Thank you Andy!
David took my wife and I (English-speaking, non-Koreans) on an amazing tour. He is so kind, knowledgeable, and thoughtful! He picked us up exactly on time from our hotel and was kind enough to provide us light breakfast snacks, banana milk, and water bottles. We then drove to the DMZ area, during which he gave us background information and answered questions. When we got there, we didn’t have to wait on any lines, as David handled all of that by himself, allowing us to explore the information center and get treats / use the restroom. He knew how early to get there and where to go, to avoid long queues. We started at Imjingak Park and explored. We then took a coach bus with other tour groups to the actual DMZ area. David secured us seats in the front of the bus, making it so much easier for us. At the DMZ area we got to take a cable car and see a heightened view of the area, with views into the North. We got back on the bus and saw the Third Tunnel. David got us to the front of the line and we were able to go quickly ahead of the long lines that followed. The tunnel was very interesting - you wear a hard hat and place your belongings in a locker. Then you follow a three foot wide tunnel 250 meters down (and come back up the same way). David was so knowledgeable and gave us details on the tunnel. Next we went to the Dora Observatory where we can use binoculars to look into the North. After that we went to the Unification Village and had a chance to purchase local goods from a supermarket, taste locally made mungbean ice cream and try some makegeoli. Then we went back with David and drove to Gamaksan Bridge and had a chance to hike up and walk across one of the longest suspension bridges in Korea. David was so kind to take pictures throughout the whole day. We ended the trip with lunch from a local restaurant where David explained to us about traditional Korean dishes. This was an amazing and unforgettable experience and we highly recommend going with David!
Andy was absolutely fantastic, and this tour was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. If you’re scrolling through endless options trying to decide, stop now and book this one — you won’t regret it. Before arriving in Korea, we spent a lot of time comparing tours and guides, and I am so glad we chose Andy. He was kind, fun, knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, and even had great awareness of what’s going on in England and around the world. From the moment he greeted us with a traditional Korean breakfast, to the thoughtful little touches throughout the day (like buying us a sports drink after climbing Tunnel 3 and even a North Korean ice cream later in the day), Andy went above and beyond to make the day special. The itinerary was perfectly planned to avoid crowds, which meant we often had breathtaking spots all to ourselves. We started with the suspension bridge — a real highlight, though be prepared for a bit of a hike (good shoes recommended!). Andy happily took photos for us all day, making sure we had memories captured without ever needing to ask. From there, he arranged everything smoothly: shuttle bus tickets, timings at the DMZ, and clear explanations of each site. The Third Tunnel was fascinating (and a bit of a workout at 1.6 km), but Andy’s enthusiasm and detailed explanations brought everything to life. At the observatory, he pointed out interesting sites across the border, which we would have completely missed on our own. Later, we visited the Unification Village, where Andy treated us to ice cream and gave us time to browse without any pressure to buy, we just had a wonderful chat whilst a few others browsed the shop. The day ended with an unforgettable gondola ride at sunset — the perfect finale. Andy then drove us back to our hotel (offering to drop us anywhere we wanted), another small but thoughtful gesture that summed up his care and professionalism. Throughout the day, Andy couldn’t have done more to make our experience exceptional. He really went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable, informed, and enjoying ourselves. We’ve already decided that when we return to Korea in 2028, we’ll be booking with Andy again. I’ve also offered to show him around the UK if he ever visits, Andy is a super fun person to be around! Without hesitation: 100% recommended!
Absolutely brilliant! David was an excellent host and English speaking guide . He was patient and kind . Giving us snacks and water along the way . His knowledge and inside told us lot about Korea and its people not just the DMZ . We had a good laugh too :) highly recommend!

Our tour guide was so friendly. We did everything on our own pace. Having a private car is a must...save lot of time
Really nice vehicle and great guide/driver. He didn’t overwhelm us with too much information as there’s plenty to read along the way. We had a great day and appreciated being in a private setting plus we got to see some other places on the way back.
A sobering experience and insightful view of Korea’s history. We were fortunate to have a caring and sensitive guide who took his time to explain issues and catered to our every needs. He was very well supported by an excellent careful driver who also was very caring. If you choose this activity I hope Aaron and Dominic are your team.
