Tokyo Samurai Armor Experience in a Photo Studio

Taro and Junko were great. Great English: Both staff members communicated perfectly and explained everything well. The Process: Very comfortable. Slippers are provided upon entry, and you are given underlayers to wear before putting on the armour. The Photos: Taro is a great photographer. He directed the poses and kindly took extra photos on my personal phone. Extras: Plenty of armour choices and easy card payment for upgrades.

Awesome and outstanding experience!! If I could and time pending, I would try wearing all the armor. Junko and Taro were very professional and ensured the whole process went great. Definitely worth the time and money spent in the studio.

100/10 would recommend for anyone who loves samurai’s and wants to dress up as one of your choosing and loves the cultural and history behind them too staff and everyone was really nice and makes you feel right at home they also gives history lessons on which set you pick or just want to know about it and if your stuck or need help choosing which set they will help give you recommendations and overall I had a blast and would recommend to all my friend’s, family and who all are looking for things to do in japan overall.

I had so much fun and it was a great experience. The people that work there are amazing and so helpful. The studio was easy to find. The photos turn out awesome.

From the moment we arrived the staff greeted us warmly and provided great hospitatility. The host gave us a brief history on each of the samurai armor that was displayed. The armour sets were stunning—authentic-looking, detailed, and surprisingly comfortable to wear. The fitting process was handled professionally and respectfully, with staff guiding each guest through the layers of the armor while explaining their purpose. A professional photo session followed, complete with poses and props, and I walked away with high-quality prints and digital copies. The staff even encouraged taking photos on your own phone. For those interested in Japanese history, this is an educational and emotional highlight. For casual visitors, it’s simply a lot of fun.

In my first ever trip to Japan I know I wanted to find a way to wear traditional samurai armor and have nice photos taken. I did plenty of research for different places in Kyoto and Tokyo and I opted to go with Sengoku. I know I made the right decision as the staff here are so nice and welcoming. They do a great job with helping you select which armor to wear, getting dressed and getting into different poses. They also have vast knowledge on Samurai history and educate you along the way. The armor here looks so much better in pictures than the other places I researched. It was 45 pounds and felt so real. I think the legitimacy of this place speaks for itself when you see how amazing the pictures come out. If you're looking for a true samurai experience make sure you don't leave Tokyo without booking with Sengoku!
