Once refreshed, we dive into the history of the area, visiting Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest and most iconic Buddhist temple, followed immediately by the peaceful Asakusa Shrine to experience the quiet contrast of the Shinto faith. 浅草神社は、浅草寺本堂のすぐ東側に鎮座し、浅草寺の創建に貢献した三人の人物を祀っている神社です。 賑やかな浅草寺とは対照的に静かで厳かな空気が流れており、お寺と神社が隣接する日本独特の風景を味わうことができます。

This was the perfect introduction to Japan. The guide met us near our hotel and showed us around the neighborhood, explaining everyday manners and local customs in a fun way. It didn’t take much time, which was great since we were still jet-lagged. So convenient and friendly!

I enjoyed this tour with my family. However, we experienced an unfortunate situation. Our original flight to Japan was scheduled to arrive at 3:50 PM, and I had booked this tour for the same day at 7:00 PM. Unfortunately, our flight was cancelled, and we were rebooked for the following day. When I contacted the tour operator, I was informed that a refund could not be issued. I requested to reschedule for the next day but was told that was not possible and that I would need to rebook entirely. As this was my first visit to Japan, I found it challenging to navigate the subway system. In order to make the most of the experience, I ended up rebooking. Despite the initial difficulties, our tour guide, Ryo, was excellent and made the tour worthwhile.
