Organized, easy to find meeting spot

There was a problem with our guide so our tour had to be changed until later that day. We didn’t see what’s app message until we arrived so that was inconvenient. We were offered a choice to stay w original time, to skip the line and use audio boxes on our own w a reduced rate or wait until later for tour. We waited. Tour was just right, not too long and it truly was skip the line. We walked right in past people waiting for 4 hours. St Peter’s is a wonder! The best part about this tour was the meeting instructions and address provided. It was easy to find. If you haven’t been to the Vatican you wouldn’t understand, but the place is massive and crowded so finding it so easily reduced the stress. I budgeted an extra 30 minutes just to find it bc of prior experiences, but there was no need. Instead, we walked a bit and had a bite to eat before the tour began.

Pasquetta Basilica Experience

This was a Gyash Tour and somehow affiliated with Viator. We were scheduled to tour Saint Peter's Basilica on Easter Sunday at 1 PM. But a few days before, we were informed that the Vatican decided to close the Basilica to visitors on Easter Sunday. Gyash Tours did a great job at trying to reschedule us. It turned out that we were able to reschedule for Easter Monday (Pasquetta), April 6 in the afternoon. Our guide was Alishba. She was a very friendly person who made the best of the extreme crowds that were present. (Skip-the-line was not exactly like actually skipping the line because there was quite a line for skip-the-line.) But Alishba had a good sense of humor about it, and did a great job in herding our group successfully to the entrance. She was very knowledgeable about the Basilica and was very dedicated to providing a good experience for us. We learned a lot about the Basilica and were able to see it beautifully embellished with flowers everywhere because of the Easter holiday. Thank you Alishba for being our fearless leader!

Arrived at meeting point...

Arrived at meeting point @ 1020 am for an 11 am tour and was told I was supposed to arrive by 8 am for my 11 am scheduled tour. Was told an email was sent yet nothing was on the booking confirmation email about the time change when I booked the tour the same week. Not even the Viator app mentioned anything about a time change. Tour representatives offered to honor my tour for the next day but was unable to do tour because of already booked tours for that day. They said request a refund. I will never book with Gyash tours through Viator every again.

Perfect organisation

It was very pleasant to walk along the huge line into the great Saint Peter. Thanks that someone from the organization walked along to scanning the QR code. Recommended!

This agency is a scam

They sell skip the line tickets and then can’t get you in. They said small group, there was 80 people. They said meeting at 17.00 hours. We waited until 18.00. They said “skip the line” but could not get us in. Then he went to the normal queue. And then the fight started with the group. He was jumping over the security fence. Only after we threatened to call the police he said he will give us our money back. But we all paid because we wanted to see and be in basilica, it was last day of the year. In the end we went by ourselves to wait in regular queue. From him and his unpleasant assistant, or whatever her role is, I got our money back. I also know some guys from India did, but what happened with others I don’t know. Avoid them, they are a total scam.

Operator response

Dear Sir/Madam, we strongly disagree with the description provided and would like to clarify several important points. First, “skip-the-line” is a commonly used term to indicate priority access, not immediate entry or the ability to bypass security procedures, which are strictly enforced by Vatican authorities. Second, Vatican security regulations do not allow large groups for this type of access. The claim that the group consisted of 80 people is therefore inaccurate and inconsistent with the policies in place. Third, our company has a clear refund policy, fully published on our website, which we strictly follow. As stated in your own review, refunds were in fact issued where applicable. We also note that statements made on behalf of other participants are speculative and not verifiable. Each booking and refund is handled individually and transparently. We regret that expectations were not met, but categorically reject any allegation of fraudulent behavior. Such claims do not reflect the service provided nor the documented outcome of the situation. Kind regards, Gyash Tours

Long line (2,5 h) with a skip the line ticket

Bought a ‘skip the line’ ticket. The tour guide made fun of those wo bought such ticket, because there is no way to skip the line. We stood for more than 2,5 hours in a line for the entrance. For the tour operator: Try to manage the expectations in advance so people know they have to wait in a very long line, even with a ‘skip the line’ ticket. If we knew this, we would have made other choices. Besides this, the guide was very friendly and helpful.

Operator response

Dear customer, thank you for sharing your experience and we are truly sorry for the long waiting time and for the unfortunate comment about the “skip-the-line” service. Queues and security checks are always managed directly by the Vatican and, at certain times of day, they can unfortunately exceed two hours even for those who have purchased services with facilitated access: the “skip-the-line” option can reduce waiting times, but it cannot eliminate them completely. We fully agree on the importance of managing expectations in advance, and we are working to make it even clearer in our descriptions that there may still be waiting times, especially during peak periods. We are nevertheless pleased that you found our staff friendly and helpful. If you wish, you can contact us for any further clarification. Kind regards, Gyash srls
