Skip the Line Seville Alcázar, Cathedral & Giralda Guided Tour

Our tour guide was exceptional and knowledgeable, and listened to all the questions being asked. The only thing I would say that we would have preferred Giralda to have been the last thing to do, as after climbing the tower, some of my friends struggled to then walk around the Cathedral, but other that that, really good value for money.

Lara was very nice and it was overall a very good experience where my family and I learned a lot about the history of seville. Lara explained very well and we were able to understand everything, even my little one of 7 years old learned a lot and benefited a lot and was very fun in his words. Overall a very good experience with an extremely good guide with us during the tour.

This tour was one of my family and my most anticipated tours for our trip to Seville and ended up as the biggest disappointment. I chose it specifically for the high reviews and that it offered a smaller group. The company texted many reminders about the tour start time so it was disappointing when the Crown Tour representatives were a few minutes late. They were the first point of contact and despite being three of them were not welcoming. Rather they scanned the tickets and said to wait. It would have been so nice to have at least one of them give a warm welcome and say that the next step would be to meet the tour guide. Instead all of the people just stroud around awkwardly while they all talked to each other and several swore likely not realizing some of us understood Spanish. . I actually thought they were the guides. Then the guide showed up five minutes late, the purple shirted people disappeared and the guide hustled us to the entrance. It should be implicitly noted they asked for ID which was never mentioned prior by the booking company. That’s a major issue and should be absolutely clear for future travelers. After rushing through the entrance of the Royal Alcazar the tour guide finally introduced himself but did so quickly I didn’t catch his name. He then proceeded to walk through the highlights of the palace, but made no effort to have the group introduce themselves or try to bring us together. Instead he rambled at length about certain points that were honestly not the highlights rather random facts and at others fast talked. His time management was horrendous and by the time we got to the gardens and cafe told us we had 15 minutes to explore and grab a beverage. Huge time mismanagement when the gardens and chance for a bottle of water on a 100 degree day would have been appreciated. He then rushed us to the cathedral, sent us up the tower and declared we had 18 minutes only. I can tell you it took my family and I 18 minutes to go up, appreciate the view for 5, and rush back down. We practically ran . Honestly by that time we decided to quit the tour and go on our own. When my husband informed the guide he seemed shocked and asked why we were leaving. My husband explained that we’ve done many wonderful engaging tours but his time mismanagement and lack of interaction with the group was awful and the tour was such a disappointment. He was unfazed. I got a survey from Crown Tours the next day (they are constantly texting) and gave my feedback about how awful the tour was and they haven’t responded. Bottom line, there are SO many good tours of the Alcazar and cathedral, just don’t book with Crown. Every person on our tour had the same bored, disappointed look as my family and myself.
