Description
Its name was given by the Venetian Giacomo Barozzi due to the presence of a chapel dedicated to Saint Irene. It is considered by many the lost continent of Atlantis. The island is fascinating and it is the ideal time to photograph the town of Fira, with its white houses perched on the hillside overlooking the volcano.

The hotel choices were poor - Athens (Hotel Dunlin) was awful and Santorini hotel was pleasant but remote. There was little advance info on excursions. We often had to call and email for connection info. Local guides and tours were excellent once we found them.

Regarding the hotel selections, your trip was booked with our 3-star hotel category, and the Hotel Dunlin in Athens is a standard 3-star property. We sent your final voucher with the confirmed hotel details in November 2024, which was nearly a full year before your trip began. This provided ample time for you to review the accommodations. We always give our clients the option to request an alternative hotel if the one we've booked isn't to their liking, within the cancelation policy timeframe, and we're happy to explore alternatives at no additional cost. We never received a request from you to change the hotel in Athens. Regarding your comments about the information provided, all of your trip details, including connection and excursion information, were included in your voucher. Our assistant also went over this information with you during the meet and greet. We also provide a 24/7 phone number for all of our clients to call or text us with any questions or concerns at any point during their trip. Everything Greca scheduled for us happened perfectly. Their guides met us at the exact time and locations as described in their emails.
