A wonderful Saturday tour!

Catherine’s tour was lovely. She was a fantastic guide both knowledgeable about the food but also the history and architecture. Mercy beaucoup Catherine!

Flexible Tour Guides

Bernice & Stephan were very kind to our family on one of the hottest days in Paris. Stephan graciously adapted our tour “on the fly” to accommodate our dehydrated 12 year old and made quick and efficient changes to our schedule so that we wouldn’t get too overheated; you could tell he was a parent! We really appreciated their flexibility, knowledge and care.

Excellent tour

Excellent tour with lots of different tastings, fun walk around San Germain. Take the tour on the first days of your trip to get to know the neighborhood.

Terrific tour with great guide

Really enjoyed this. Learned some culinary history while visiting and tasting at everything from cheese and wine to crafted chocolates, jam and macaroons. Our guide Forine was great. Friendly and cheerful with great knowledge of the local foods and insights into some of St. Germain’s best. Highly recommend!

Loved it!!

Catherine was amazing. She took us to so many different places and was very informative yet fun. Food tastings were delicious. Great way to get around and get your bearings. I would definitely do this at the start of your trip. Be aware - the meeting place is across the street from the church at the black doors next to Louis Vuitton

Tour reflections

We enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods and eating all of the different chocolates, pastries, bread, cheeses, and wine. As feedback, I’d suggest starting with the baguette and cheeses. I came to the event hungry and found myself wanting to eat, but we only had candies for the first half of the tour. Also, the tour was longer than we had hoped. Combing stories with eating could save time.

Don't book on a Sunday

This was booked for a Sunday afternoon but most of the places we were meant to be taken to were closed. The guide said he would feed that back but it was a little late for us. It was a very disappointing tour. I wrote to complain but heard nothing back. I have been on other tours and they have been very good. Just be aware, do not book on a Sunday, however they should not be made available either.

Operator response

Dear Yvette, we are sorry that you was unlucky that day. Yes several shops were closed that very Sunday, which was exceptional. It is not the case for most of the rest of the year.

Worth doing.

The guide was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The pace of the tour was slow and our guide gave us a lot of history of buildings we passed in between tastings. A suggestion to add more detail to the meeting spot as I had trouble finding it.(I was in the correct spot but didn't know) I rang the company to verify it. The foods we tasted were fantastic, both sweet amd savoury.

Not what we expected

We take food tours for the food and the company. On this tour my husband and I were the only participants and would have canceled had we known. In fact, I’m surprised the company didn’t cancel the tour. Our guide was good, but the food experience was very chintzy…a few pastries spread across the area, a few small tastings that I could have received if I walked in from the street, and the last stop a “meal” that was a cheese platter. Compared to other food tours, I would not recommend this poor showing from a city famous for its food.

Operator response

Dear customer, we are surprised that you complain about being the only clients that day on the tour... you was blessed to have the guide for yourself ! We put forward the importance of maintaining the tour for anybody who booked a tour with us. You should know that a private tour with us for the same circuit is the double price of what you paid, and we receive every day bookings for private tours... Last, you trust that you could have done the tour by yourself, we are happy to read that you master our French streets and specialities as much as a local and experienced guide.
