Daniel provided good insight into the history of the Basilica and showed us the major highlights. It was disappointing, given the cost for a location that does not have an entry fee, that the tour did not include the two optional exhibits.
Wen is a fantastic guide. You can tell she really cares about both the historical and the religious sides of the basilica and its history. The tour is an absolute must for anyone interested in the life and ministry of Saint Paul. Highly recommend! 10/10
the guide, Wen, was extraordinarily knowledgeable about the entire background of Paul and the ensuing history of the Basilica. Wonderful experience and a gem of our weeklong Rome tour
This is our favorite of the beautiful basilicas in Rome- bar none. Wen is a theology student here in Rome and knew everything about the history of this magnificent place. We visited in 30 years ago and once again, yesterday with the help of Wen, our delightful tour guide. We can highly recommend this visit. Especially for those who do not enjoy the crowded city center. This destination is so worth the visit. Please ask for Wen- she is a treasure!
Guide was at the meeting point a good 15 minutes or so before the tour started. Wen (our Guide) was friendly and always asking us questions and if we had questions. She was very knowledgeable and fun to interact with. Highly recommend St Paul’s Basilica and this tour.
This is one of the four papal basilicas in Rome (along with St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Basilica of St. John Lateran, and the Basilica of St. Mary Major). Compared with other papal basilicas, this one is quite far from the historic center of the city, but still accessible by public transportation (particularly by bus or subway). Under its main altar you'll find the tomb of Saint Paul and the chains that bound him. The church is big, with an impressive central nave and portico. Take some time to visit its side chapels and museum, too.
