Itinerary
The Colosseum, a symbolic monument of Rome, was named so in medieval times due to an enormous statue of Nero that stood next to it, the Colossus. In the large amphitheater the ludes circenses were held, which mainly consisted of fights between gladiators and fights with ferocious animals.
The Circus Maximus is an ancient Roman circus, dedicated to horse racing, built in Rome. At 620 meters long and 140 meters wide, it is considered the largest man-made performance structure.
The square is known because from the "keyhole" of the entrance door the dome of St. Peter is exactly framed at the end of the garden.
The "Gianicolo" is a Roman hill, it is one of the most panoramic places in the city with a view to the east of the neighboring neighborhoods and the historic center with the major architectural monuments of the city. At the top of the hill (practically under the statue of Garibaldi) a cannon has been placed since 24 January 1904 and fires blanks at exactly midday.
Piazza San Pietro is the square in front of St. Peter's Basilica. The square is part of the Vatican City and is delimited by the border with the Italian state.
Castel Sant'Angelo, also known as Hadrian's Mausoleum, is a monument in Rome, located on the right bank of the Tiber (the Roman river). A short distance from the Vatican, it is connected to the Vatican State through the fortified corridor of the "passetto". The castle was radically modified several times in the medieval and Renaissance periods.
Piazza Navona is one of the most famous monumental squares in Rome, built in monumental style by the Pamphili family, with the typical shape of an ancient stadium. Piazza Navona, at the time of ancient Rome, was the Stadium of Domitian which was built by the emperor Domitian in 85 and in the 3rd century it was restored by Alexander Severus. It was 265 meters long, 106 meters wide and could accommodate 30,000 spectators.
Until the fifteenth century the square did not exist as such, and in its place there was a flowery meadow with some cultivated vegetable gardens, hence the name. According to an unreliable tradition, the square should instead be named after Flora (a woman loved by Pompey, who had built her theater near her).

It was so wonderful!! We got to see places we never would have imagined and our driver was just great!!!
He was early, nice, & knowledgeable. He took us off the unbeaten path. He took pictures of us.. stopped at a certain shop when I said we wanted a t-shirt
Rome sights at night beautiful to see and experience with much fewer crowds! My driver was great and would highly recommend.
Such a great idea because it ended up being 94F the day we were in Rome and it was so nice to be escorted around in an air conditioned van, stopping very conveniently for us to get out for as long (or short) as we wanted—Amer would wait for us right where he dropped us always VERY close to where we wanted to be. Awesome!
Do not book! The tour guides themselves were great! Andrea was very nice and very knowledgeable about his city! The vehicles were nice and well maintained and provided a cool break between site visits and greatly appreciated. Thank you!! However, the company is shady at best. They asked to be paid offline outside of Viator for an additional 250 Euro per vehicle (we arranged for 2). After receiving payment and ONLY on the morning of our adventure, were we told that our return trip required another full payment of 500 Euros. They are not honest in their business practices. We were able to arrange for another method of travel on our own after being harassed for the additional payment and refusal to take us back to port (our original pick up point). Again, only on the morning of the tour was it mentioned that our return trip was not included. We did get to see many nice sites in Rome, but we had to “encourage” our guides to take us where we wanted to go as they were not using the published guide of 8 stops during our 3 hour tour. Rome is a beautiful city, but with tourism as their primary means to their economy, be careful and continue to write reviews, as I would never want this to happen to another traveler! Safe travels everyone!!!
Dear Nedra, As you can see from your first wrong reservation, you booked 3 hours tour in Rome for 14 people (2 vans) without mention that the pick up and drop off location was at Civitavecchia cruise port, very far from Rome downtown (about 160km). As you can read on Viator communication platform, our team asked you if you also needed the 2 rides from and to Civitavecchia Port and you told us to book only one way (from Civitavecchia port to Rome); only at the end of the sightseeing tour, you asked the driver to take you back at the Cruise port. And we had to ask you for sure to pay an extra fee (always for 2 vans). For the next time, we kindly suggest to check which kind of product you're booking. Thank you
Amer was a wonderful tour guide and excellent driver! For our last day, we were exhausted but still had so much we wanted to see! He took us to everything and more and we were able to get out and take several photos! The Mercedes Van was beyond comfortable and luxurious! This is a must do! Thank you SO much, Amer!!!
It was a great tour! I highly recommend Roberto, we asked him to help us navigate Rome like locals and he took us to nice spots, waited for us, recommended a great place for lunch and dropped us off right where we needed to be. Amazing service and vehicle.
