Company cancelled morning of at 10:30 am stating not enough people. Asked the day before if we could join that days tour but we had not arrived in Rome yet. They should have mentioned the day before that there was a possibility of cancellation. I have traveled all over land never had this happen through Viator before. No mention yet of tikin on refund.
Our activity was cancelled by the operator. Very disappointing since it was one of our evening activities. Refund was issued.
This panoramic walking tour of Rome is a wonderful experience, but it comes into its own especially in the evening. During the day the highlights are impressive, but often very busy. In the evening, the city turns into something special: calmer, more atmospheric and almost magical. The Trevi Fountain is breathtakingly beautiful at night. The lighting makes the water shine and the atmosphere is much more intimate than during the day. The Spanish Steps are also elegant and relaxed in the evening, a perfect place to pause and take in the surroundings. What makes this walk extra special is the route along several iconic piazzas. Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Barberini, Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori get a completely different look in the evening. The illuminated fountains, historic facades and soft sounds of the city create a unique Roman atmosphere. Buskers, terraces and evening life make the squares lively but not overwhelming. Best time & tips: The best and quietest time is after sunset, especially later in the evening. During the day these places are beautiful, but very busy – the evening offers more space and atmosphere. Ideal to combine with a dinner or drink on one of the piazzas afterwards. In short: a perfect walk to experience Rome at its best. Fountains, squares and monuments come together in a relaxed and romantic evening atmosphere. Absolutely recommended and a highlight of the trip.
Although my refund was processed immediately, we were not informed right away. We spent money for our taxi fare so we will be on time for our tour, waited for a long time and nobody showed up. Thank you for the other tour guide that we asked about our tour and she mentioned to check my WhatsApp messages. I did and found out the tour was canceled. So the four of us decided to just walk around the area and that’s the best tour we had. No pressures and had the best dinner also.
Our experience was tainted from the start by a beligerant person whose attitude kinda spoiled it, not just for us, but probably for others in the group. Walking at night was nice compared to the day and the heat. The only issue with these tours is trying to keep all the information in! Apart from people being everywhere it was a nice walk visiting the landmarks.
Terrible. I will never use them again. The tour said it started at 7pm. We arrived on time but there was no tour to be seen at the meeting spot. We went to the second stop to wait for the tour to try and catch up and no one turned up. We couldnt get through to the tour operator. Had to go through viator who couldn't get through either. Seen other reviews saying the tour guide neber showed up. I'll be seeking a full refund.
There is a minimum number of people required or it will be canceled. It was a very disappointing to us.
We are very sorry like you and would have liked and will have the tours to take place. But unfortunately other customers may cancel their tour for any reason such as delay in entering the city or illness or missing their flight. And we cannot organize the tour for a minimum of 6 people or 8 people. When you book your tour, it is written on the tour booking page that operators are allowed to cancel the tour if the participant is not reached. Just as customers use their right to cancel and refund and easily cancel and get a refund. The tour operator also has a hundred percent right to cancel the tour even two hours before the tour.
The tour was cancelled by the company the day of and within hours of the event. I hope to get my full money back.
I understand that every tour should meet 15 minutes before the start time. But I did a similar tour through VIATOR the Vatican. And we left at 9am which was the time to make it through the lines. I came to that tour 8:45 am. And the tour guide waited for everyone. The tour guide for the walking tour left at 6:45 pm I got there at 6:58 pm. My guide left early and I was trying to contact him or her. Next time if you say 15 min make it or be late. Have that for all the tours then.
There was a little more walking involved, but very much worth it. Very informative guide gave us a lot of history and stories all about Rome.. my favorite part of the trip was finding out about the aqua ducts under the city and knowing that you could drink the water straight from the fountains.
