Colosseum. The massive stone amphitheater was commissioned around A.D. 70-72 by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty as a gift to the Roman people.
Piazza Venezia. Located almost in the 'geometric centre' of Rome, Piazza Venezia was named after the Cardinal Venezia who, in 1455, ordered the construction of his own Palace.
Trevi Fountain. Designed by Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini in 1762, Trevi Fountain is considered a late Baroque masterpiece and a symbol of Rome.
Spanish Steps. Built at the beginning of the eighteenth century connecting Piazza di Spagna and the Church of Trinità dei Mont Spanish steps is one of the most famous parts of Rome.
Pantheon. The Roman Pantheon is the most preserved and influential building of ancient Rome. It is a Roman temple dedicated to all the gods of pagan Rome.
Piazza Navona. The most outstanding square of the Baroque period in Rome features Bernini's Fountain of Rivers at its center as it faces Borromini's church.
St. Peter's Square. St. Peter's Square is one of the largest and most beautiful squares in the world. It is located in Vatican City, at the feet of St. Peter's Basilica.
Janiculum Hill. Known as the 8th of the Rome's hills, the Gianicolo (or Janiculum), offers the best view of the Eternal City.
