(Schedule is flexible) Ngoc Son Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi, Vietnam Located on a small island in the peaceful Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple is one of Hanoi’s most visited cultural sites. Connected to the lakeshore by the iconic red wooden The Huc Bridge, the temple honors General Tran Hung Dao and other national scholars and heroes. Its serene setting, historical significance, and traditional architecture make it a perfect spot to explore Vietnam’s spiritual and intellectual heritage.
(Schedule is flexible) Our tour guide will pick you up then we will start our Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Tour. The first destination of the tour will stop by Hoan Kiem Lake, considered the heart of Hanoi. You can observe many locals interesting activities such as playing badminton, doing exercises.
(Schedule is flexible) Temple of Literature & National University is originally built as a university in 1070 dedicated to Confucius, scholars and sages, the building is extremely well preserved and is a superb example of traditional-style Vietnamese architecture. Visiting the Temple of Literature you will discover historic buildings from the Ly and Tran dynasties in a revered place that has seen thousands of doctors’ graduate in what has now become a memorial to education and literature.
(Schedule is flexible) Hoa Lo Prison ironically nicknamed the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ by US prisoners of war (POWs) during the American War. Most exhibits relate to the prison’s use up to the mid-1950s, focusing on the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France.

I had a wonderful experience exploring Hanoi with my guide. She picked me up from my hotel right on time and was friendly, professional, and very attentive throughout the tour. Although she was young, she was incredibly knowledgeable, well-educated, and spoke excellent English. She shared fascinating insights about history, and daily life, helping us understand Hanoi and Vietnamese culture on a much deeper level. She answered all of our questions with patience and enthusiasm, and the–4 hour tour was engaging from start to finish. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Hanoi.
The tour was very good and insightful. It went on for almost 5-6 hrs. Anna and Lynn were so patient and explained everything in detail. It gave good insights into Vietnamese culture and history. We did Ho chi Minh complex, temple of literature, hoa lo prison and ngsoc temple and sword lake. This tour is done by an NGO customized as per what we wanted to see. Great stuff!!

We had 2 lovely girls with us. Alena and I think Jessie. The knowledge they have about the city is incredible. They sent a message a day earlier to check what we want to see so they could organise our tour. We had a great time, wasn’t the food tour but they took us to great places that we end up eating a lot. What we loved.

This is was a very good tour. Ben was extremely knowledgeable and he took us to the important attractions in Hanoi. Another student accompanied him to practice his English, which makes the group very authentic in terms of interactions. Ben allowed us to take our own times and answered all of our questions. He was also helped in navigating the currency, which can be a bit daunting to a first-timer in Vietnam. Thank you!

Could not recommend this experience more. It was free and I had Ben Nguyen. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, friendly and easy to talk to! We spoke for hours and it felt like I had a local friend with historical knowledge to take me around. They can take you wherever you wish if you have a plan, or they know where to take you if you aren’t planned. Overall it is so worth the experience for yourself and for the enthusiastic tourist and I made sure to tip him generously but I was not asked at all to! I learnt so much more about Vietnamese history and culture than any museum taught me
