Private Tour to Belleau Wood The Devil Dogs & their Epic Battle

Description
A unique day experience to explore the famous battlefields of WW1 where the US Marine Corps lost more men that in its entire history till then and deserved the nick- name "DEVIL DOGS". It is a very in depth tour that covers every aspect of the battle from its begining to the end. The battle lasted for 20 days and there is a lot of terrain to explore and many stories to be told. This tour was very much appreciated by every US Marine that toured with us, but as well by any war history enthousiast.

Jozef went above and beyond the usual tour guide duties for my husband and I on our tour of Belleau Wood. We had rearranged our tour dates and it turned out we were at Belleau Wood on the day of the 2026 Memorial Day Ceremony. My great uncle, Burley Mynatt was an 18 year old Marine from Tennessee who fought and died at Belleau Wood. It was a very emotional and moving Ceremony and day for us. Jozef secured us seats in a VIP section for the Ceremony. The Ceremony was very moving and we were so honored to be there with the men and women serving in the military. I had sent Jozef newspaper articles about my Uncle from 1918-1921 and he added those articles to his research. The time and care and amount of research he did for us was amazing. He made us a detailed notebook of maps and descriptions of where my Uncle Burley served. We stood on the section of the battlefield where my Uncle and the men he serve with dug trenches and fox holes. He also had information about where my uncle was buried at Belleau Wood for more than three years before the return of his body to the United States. He provided copy of papers of concerning his transport ship, docking in the United States. and that my Great Grandmother had claimed his body before his final journey by Southern Railroad to Knoxville TN. This was information we had spent years trying to find. Now, thanks to Jozef we have my Uncle Burley Mynatt's full story. We are so appreciative of Jozef's time and attention to detail for our deeply moving tour. It was an ancestrial journey that I have thought about for many years and I'll be forever grateful that Jozef was our guide.
It was interesting, beautiful And awe inspiring
Enjoyed the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend this tour.
What an incredible day. Jozef was so knowledgeable and willing to make the day special for my husband and I. We walked into the woods, visited the memorials, and my Marine husband was able to drink from the Devil Dog fountain. Thank you, Jozef! We would love visit again.
Best tour I have ever been on. I could not have asked for a better way to celebrate the USMC 250th birthday. Jozef absolutely made our tour the very best. He has a wealth of knowledge and shared many things I was unaware of concerning the battle of Belleau Wood. I highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed.
What an outstanding trip to Belleau Wood, France. Our tour guide, Jozef, absolutely made the day for me. He was attentive to my every need, (I am a 76 year old Marine), and truly cared about how I was enjoying the experience. He took me to all the sights I wanted to see. We visited the Devil Dog Fountain and he even provided a jug for me to fill as I had forgotten to bring one. At the American cemetery he convinced the caretakers to allow me to participate in the flag lowering. My grandson and I had just finished an 11 day tour (from a different tour company) of Normandy and Bastogne. But the tour with Jozef is the day I will always remember. The most memorable and outstanding day of our trip to France. I cannot recommend this this man highly enough. HIs knowledge, attention to details and outgoing personality were a real treat. Any Marine, currently serving, retired or like me who served way back when and who wants to learn more of this battle and visit the fountain, needs to book with Jozef. I know my grandfather, a Marine that was at Belleau Wood that June in 1918 was looking down (hopefully not up) and smiling.
An outstanding experiece to meet Mike... "The Lion of Medina" USMC Vietnam..... hope to see u soon
I cannot say enough about what a great tour we had of the WWI battle sites & monuments around Belleau Wood. Accommodating us with a second car so the wives could also be part of the tour with our Marine & FMF Corpsmen spouses was greatly apprecicated! Jozef, your knowledge, communication and hospitality skills are unsurpassed and made the tour come alive for each of us. Thank you also to our second driver, Emily. Her family stories of Normandy made the drive very intersting.
