Private tour Fayoum oasis, whale valley, 10% to stray animals

Description
Fayoum oasis and valley of the whales contain the best-preserved fossils, bones and skeletons of 40 million years old whales and beautiful stony old mangriove trees, as the whole area was a beach of an ancient pre-historic ocean, and they still excavate more. It combines pre-historic, ancient egyptian, Greek, Roman, ptolemaic and islamic history. The magic lake and Qaroon lake have both unique history and local stories whether real or part of local mythology. It is so much interesting and fun for both adults and kids who enjoy sandboarding too. Usually, we make it as a day trip as it’s just two hours from Giza. However, upon request, we can also camp there at night for star gazing and playing with foxes !

I would repeat this if I visit Egypt in the future again. Wadi-Al-Hitan should be on every traveler's list. Safy showed us all the interesting exhibits in the park. Probably the only place in the world where we can see ancient fossils in the open. Safy organized a lunch for us at a desert camp. The food was so amazing. The park has a museum at the entrance, which has quite a few exceptional fossils on display. Many thanks to Safy for this experience.
I cannot recommend Safy highly enough! We had the privilege of spending four days with her, and she curated an absolutely breathtaking itinerary that exceeded every expectation. Safy’s passion for Egypt—its history, culture, and roots—shines through in everything she shares. A remarkable highlight is her ability to read hieroglyphics, which brought ancient sites to life as she translated inscriptions and explained their meaning in such an engaging way. What touched me most was her kindness and compassion. Each day, she carried food for the stray dogs and cats we encountered, showing the same care for Egypt’s animals as she does for its people and history. By the end of our four days together, I truly felt as though I had gained a dear friend in Cairo. We are already dreaming up our next adventure with her when I return to Egypt. Safy is simply one of a kind, and any traveler would be lucky to explore Egypt with her.
Such a great tour ! Everything was perfect; the guide, the driver, safari, whale valley, swimming in the charming lakes, foxes, wildlife, dinner, tea on firewood at midnight in the middle of the nowhere !. Such authentic beauty and peaceful desert never expected unless you live the experience yourself ! If you prefer nature to touristic spots, book this tour to have an authentic experience of the real Egypt !
We had already met Safy a few days earlier and were impressed by her expertise during the tour of Saqqara and Dahshur (a tour we truly recommend to anyone passionate about ancient Egypt!). This journey through the Fayoum region, with its more naturalistic focus, was equally extraordinary. It’s hard to describe the beauty of this region — but it will certainly be impossible to forget the Magic Lake and the unique experience of swimming in the middle of the desert. At Wadi El-Hitan we camped for the night not far from the site, sharing the incredible silence of the desert — and a delicious dinner! — in the delightful company of Safy, Mohammed, and Ali. Thanks to our guide, we visited early in the morning the Museum of Fossils and Climate Change and the area with the whale skeletons — which felt almost like a sanctuary of the planet. On the way back to Cairo, we were lucky to stop at the Kom Aushim Museum, a little-known gem rarely visited by tourists yet rich in artefacts and history — from prehistory to the famous mummy portraits, including Egyptian statuary and everyday objects — all documenting the story of the extraordinary Fayoum region.
I want to experience this trip again; it was truly wonderful. The supervisors treated us with utmost kindness. It was truly amazing
I really can’t recommend sofy enough ! Our first language is not English, yet she was very flexible and patient. She is very knowledgable and friendly. She is shining like ancient Egypt. We enjoyed her company and our tour in Fayoum so much. It’s really like paradise. We are sure we will return for longer period this time to enjoy all of Egypt with sofy. Salam sofy see you next year !
It was a more than great experience with the outstanding guide and the place was charming and I repeat the experience nearby with friends and would encourage co-workers too
What a wonderful trip to the Giza Pyramids. This was my third trip with Safy (her Saqqara and Alexandria tours are awesome, that is why I decided booking this third one with her). Her knowledge in ancient Egypt history is impressive and she even told me the meaning of hieroglyphs inscribed in the stones. Moreover I loved she didn't take me shopping as most guides do where prices are agreed in the back of the tourists and that she doesn't require to ride a Camel to get to the panoramic view because she is also against animal cruelty. After the Pyramids we went to the Grand Egyptian Museum and she showed me the most marvelous works there. At the end we ate traditional Egyptian food where locals go. I really learned a lot. She and Mohamed (our driver) made me feel like home and it was as if I were making the trip with very good friends. This was one of the best trips I did in Egypt. Thank you guys 🫶
We had a great day sightseeing and learning about pyramids and Egyptian history thanks so Safi and Mohamed. Safi is so knowledgeable and passionate about all the places she took us and we were so glad that she showed us the Step Pyramid (which we would have not considered visiting). We also had a great lunch at a local restaurant that she found; the food was amazing and my wife and kids were so excited to ride the horses there. Safi was really good with our kids and patient in answering their million questions 😅 She helped us communicating with the locals and showed us around old Cairo. Overall, it was a really fun day! I’m definitely recommending her to my friends who are interested in visiting Egypt
