Al-Azhar Mosque, known simply in Egypt as al-Azhar, is an Egyptian mosque in Islamic Cairo. Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah of the Fatimid dynasty commissioned its construction for the newly established capital city in 970. Its name is usually thought to derive from az-Zahrāʾ, a title given to Fatimah.

Very accommodating and friendly… Driver was great and so was the guide. Only wanted to note for future…. The guide spent a lot of time on her phone. Perhaps there was family issues or other life things. I booked in the final hour of the morning

My friend and I did a tour through Islamic Cairo with Bishoo. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about life in Egypt. He provided great commentary throughout the tour and was very patient as we wandered through the bazaar. We had a slight miscommunication during the booking process, but the tour operator was helpful in working with us to resolve the issue the same day.
