Few tourists in Egypt venture to Alexandria, a legendary port city on the Mediterranean coast founded by Alexander the Great. During this private day tour with hotel transfers from Cairo or Giza, discover under-the-radar attractions of one of antiquity's most prosperous cities, once known for its massive library, which held 500,000 books, and the Pharos of Alexandria, the most famous lighthouse of the ancient world. After a tasty lunch in a local restaurant, see the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a library built to commemorate Alexandria's ancient center of knowledge. Take a stroll along the Corniche, a historic waterfront promenade, before private transfer back to your hotel.
The Library was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world, but details about it are a mixture of history and legend, but got destroyed completely and The idea of reviving the old library dates back to 1974 when a committee set up by Alexandria University selected a plot of land for its new library between the campus and the seafront, close to where the ancient library once stood. The recreation of the ancient library was not only adopted by other individuals and agencies
Citadel of Qaitbay is a defensive fortress located on the Mediterranean sea coast. It was established in 1477 AD (882 AH) by the mamluk Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa'it Bay. The Citadel is located on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern Harbour. It was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was built on an area of 17,550 square metres
The Roman Amphitheatre is one of Alexandria's most popular monuments. This is Egypt's second most important city, after the capital, Cairo. While the amphitheaters were spread throught different countries like Greece, Italy, and Turkey during the reign of the Romans with many examples of these structures still present in many regions around Europe and the Middle East, the Roman Amphitheatre of Alexandria is the only one of its type in Egypt.

Special thanks to the tour guide today, I was treated to Turkish coffee, which was very good! Although the driver can't speak English, he can basically communicate with the translation software... At least I am back to hotel safely... Everything is good and thanks all

Our driver Ahmed essam was very nice. He drove very carefully and had lots of attention towards us: bottled water, juice and cakes. Upon our arrival in Alexandria we joined our Francophone guide Ayma. We had a great day with him. She speaks French very well and gave us lots of explanations of the different sites visited. She provided us with a lot of information about the lives of the inhabitants. She is very smiling and it is very nice. A very nice day very well organized.

I would like to share my experience of an incredible excursion in Alexandria, Egypt, where the Mediterranean Sea meets history. Our tour was expertly organized by Muhammad, who is hands down the best tour guide I've ever encountered. He skillfully arranged our transportation, guided us through stunning sites, and provided a delicious lunch along with delightful surprises throughout the day. Our guide, Eslam, was a treasure trove of knowledge; I later learned he is a teacher, which made the experience even more enriching. I came away feeling truly educated after exploring the Roman theater and the fascinating museums. We took a refreshing break to enjoy a fantastic seafood lunch, which was the perfect way to recharge. From beginning to end, this tour has been one of the finest I've ever experienced. The entire team deserves a perfect score of 10 out of 10. If you're thinking about visiting Egypt, I highly recommend booking your adventure through Egypt Travel & Tours. You won't regret it!

Our morning started early today. We had a 7am pickup by our driver, Ahmeed, to the coastal city of Alexandria, bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Pickup was quite the experience. Our main tour guide, Mohamed, organized everything perfectly for us! The drive to Alexandria was about 2.5 hours. Before we got on the highway, Ahmeed stopped at a gas station to fill up and my mom and I went to grab breakfast at the Dunkin Donuts next door. Ahmeed was very passionate and accommodating 🙏🏾 Once in Alexandria, we picked up our local tour guide for the day, Eslam. It was a fascinating day of exploring historic Grecian/Roman/Alexandrian ruins. He took us to the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, The Ancient Roman Theater, and The Library of Alexandria. Along the way, we stopped for a very tasty seafood lunch in a beachfront restaurant. Later in the day, Eslam also made a pit stop to introduce us to another traditional Alexandrian snack, lamb liver. At first, we were skeptical because, liver 🙄, but it was so yummy! And of course, mom in I with our big energy and personalities had all the staff in there dancing. Even our guide, Eslam and driver, Ahmeed, came out of their shells to dance a little! 🥰 Another amazing day in Egypt! No complaints and thank you Mohamed, Eslam, and Ahmeed for a perfect day! 🙌🏾 #GloryToGod #bucketlist #motherdaughtertrip
